JILL BROWN: A man in his late 70s (Trevor’s father)

TRACY BROWN: A woman in her 60s (Trevor’s mother)

TREVOR BROWN: A man in his early 40s (Pretty’s boyfriend)

Caroline: A woman in her 50s (Trevor’s auntie)

Pinky: A woman in her early 20s (House helper)

ACT 1

SCENE 1

SETTING: It is in the dining room on a beautiful

Sunday afternoon. The house is decorated with


beautiful flowers outside.

Tracy brown on her sewing machine. Windows


are widely open for plenty of fresh air. Jill
Brown sitted on the sofa reading the Sunday
news paper. The gate alarm rings.

JILL BROWN: Just a moment!!

(JILL BROWN opened the gate and Trevor


entered driving a car. He came out dressed in
jeans holding two paper bags of groceries).

TREVOR BROWN: Hello, Mummy and Daddy, its been a while


(hugging his father and mother)

TRACY BROWN: How is work and everything my dear son.

TREVOR BROWN: All is well mummy

JILL BROWN: How are you Sony! We are glad to meet with
you today (with a happy horsy voice).

TRACY BROWN: PINKY! PINKY! Come and take these groceries to


the kitchen and also bring some cookies and
juice for your brother. (TREVOR BROWN is busy
eating while chatting with his parents)

TREVOR BROWN: Daddy and Mummy I came to see you but I


have good news to tell you.

TRACY BROWN: What Sony! (With a broad smile in her face).

TREVOR BROWN: Good news mummy

TRACY BROWN: Go ahead my dear Son

TREVOR BROWN I want to marry parents. I have found someone


whom I think we can stay together in our
future.
TRACY BROWN: Really! ….

JILL BROWN: This is what we have been waiting for my Son.

These are good news indeed.

TREVOR BROWN: I will come again next Sunday to show you my


girlfriend that I want to marry.

JILL BROWN: You are most welcome my son. I will also invite
your Auntie Caroline to be with us.

TREVOR BROWN: Its fine Daddy please go ahead and invite him I
have no problem with that. Thank you so much
parents. (TREVOR JILL’S phone ringing) he exit
and answered it outside.

TRACY BROWN: TREVOR has grown up now, he has done a good


thing. (talking to her husband).

TREVOR BROWN: (Enters from outside) Thank you so much


parents. It has been a good thing to be with
you now I need to rush and attend to
something. Bye meet you next Sunday.

(EXIT TREVOR BROWN)


ACT 1

SCENE 2

SETTING: In the Dining room. It was a cool mid morning


Sunday. AUNTIE ROSE, JILL AND TRACY BROWN
casually dressed in their African clothes.
Discussing about the new currency that has
been introduced into the country. (while
waiting for TREVOR BROWN). All of a sudden
the phone rings, it was TREVOR his father that
they are on their way. As they were busy
talking the alarm rang and they opened the
gate for TREVOR BROWN to come in.

TREVOR BROWN: How are you Auntie its been long (inside the
room in the dining room), Every one was
greeting each other it was a happy moment.

JILL BROWN: How are you my son and my daughter? (while


sitted)

PRETTY: We are fine.

TREVOR BROWN: We are fine Daddy.

JILL BROWN: Go ahead son introduce you girlfriend.


( TREVOR made all the introductions and Pretty
also introduced herself again)

TREVOR BROWN: What is the problem Daddy? (Every one in the


house was sobbing after TREVOR’s
introductions).

JILL BROWN: There is something that I did not disclose to you


ever since you grew up. It is only you mother
and other family members.

When I was working in Zambia and you were


still young, I pregnanted a certain lady who was
a Zimbabwean by mistake when I was married
to your mother. The issue was resolved in the
family and we did not tell you. We thought the
mother will never come back to Zimbabwe,
they will stay in Zambia forever. (AUNTIE ROSE
AND TRACY JILL IN TEARS AND PRETTY.

AUNTIE ROSE: Sorry! TREVOR (hugging him) this is your blood


sister therefore you can not marry her.

JILL BROWN: Sorry my Son and Daughter. This is a big issue,


so we encourage you not to continue with this
relationship.

TREVOR BROWN: But Daddy, we have been to this relationship


for 3 years.

PRETTY: I remember my mother describing you to me,


for sure you are the one so what can we do!!
(while sobbing)

TREVOR BROWN: Daddy! Daddy! What is this What will I do


because I love this Girl!

THIS RELATIONSHIP! THIS RELATIONSHIP! OH!


MY GOD! (Exit TREVOR and took his car and
went back to his house leaving PRETTY and his
parents.
