Contingencies
● Failure of Executing Proper Time Management
○ Solutions:
■ All product end goal dates are before actual due date to ensure
enough of a cushion for unforeseen occurrences
■ In the project managers personal schedule, there is almost daily
time set aside specifically for this project. Oftentimes the time set
aside is more than planned, again to provide cushion for
unforeseen circumstances.
● If the planned products, tasks or subtasks are completed and
there is still time allotted left, the PM continues on to do
further work.
■ Project manager has a personal copy of all project plans for current
projects printed and easily accessible to ensure priorities are placed
in the correct project at the right time.
Risks
● Technology Failure
○ Solutions
■ All products are saved on a Google Drive account in order to
ensure accessibility if the normal computer is unable to retrieve the
information.
■ Secondary locations are set in place and available for use of the
internet and other facilities.
■ Last resort, PM has all needed contact information listed in
physical form in case of emergency.
● Emergency Situations
■ As previously stated, there is more time than actually needed
planned in the PM’s schedule to complete this project and all its
products. In most emergency situations, the PM plans to be ahead
of schedule so that if there is a hiccup in the completion, it does
not derail the entire project.
■ There may of course be exceptions to this, and in that case the PM
will discuss with the client the necessary steps for project
completion.
