Review contractor work schedule, conflicts, date conflicts, WZTC
Review stream classification, paint rating, migratory birds, bats for restrictions
Outside agency coordination: NYSDEC, NYCDEP, ACOE, Utilities, Municipalities
Check bridges for presence of homeless people. Notify Area Const Supervisor if present.
Review seasonal/weather restrictions: Specification or Manufacturer, use more restrictive
Water source/Disposal site approved?
Review equipment cleaning requirements when on-site water source is used
Pressure washer meets specification
Review bridge sealing items

Review for utilities on/under bridge, migratory birds, bats, stream restrictions
Review existing paint condition - see EI 07-032
All loose rust removed from weathering steel bridges with 3000 psi - See EI 07-032
Prior to washing, all trash/debis collected and removed, unblock all drains/scuppers
Pressure wash only when temperature is 40 degrees F and above.
Check that equipment is operating at correct pressure. If pressure is causing damage to bridge,
have contractor lower pressure and notify EIC.
All visible dirt, salt, animal waste and similar debris removed
Make sure bridge drainage system is not damaged during cleaning
After cleaning, thoroughly inspect bridge for missed areas
After cleaning, bridge drainage system shall be checked for proper functioning
Waste/debris disposed of at approved location?
