NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE VIRTUAL PARENTS-TEACHERS CONFERENCE

February 04, 2021, the 2 nd virtual parents-teachers conference of the Grade 11 – HUMSS E
Gregorio T. Velasquez was held. The said activity started at 10:00 in the morning which was
participated by 14 parents and the class adviser, Ms. Gianne Azel G. Torrejos.
The conference began with preliminaries – opening prayer, message from Mr. Melvin B.
Tinio, the Senior High School focal person, and reminders from the Prefect of Discipline, Mrs. Cecilia
V. Repalda and Mr. Mervin B. Gamez. After the preliminaries, the class adviser proceeded to the
presentation of the agenda of the day which are as follows: (1) Important Reminders from the
Prefect of Discipline, (2) Parents’ Role as Learning Facilitators, (3) Grading System, (4) Module
Distribution and Retrieval (schedule) along with the distribution of Class Card for the 1st Quarter,
(5) Students' Performances, (6) Requirements (Transferees), and (7) other matters. The adviser
began with reinforcing the role of the parents and/or guardians as learning facilitators at home
wherein they, too, have to monitor their children doing the academic tasks entailed in the modules
given to them. It was succeeded with the presentation of D.O. 031, s. 2020 also known as the
Interim Guidelines for Assessment and Grading in Light of the Basic Education Continuity Plan
discussing the components of the grading system in the new normal namely the written works and
performance tasks only. Next to that, the schedule for the distribution and retrieval of modules was
announced and that is on February 5, 2021. Along with that will be the distribution of the class
card. It was then followed by the discussion and evaluation of students’ performance in general.
The adviser Ma’am Torrejos reminded the students to make sure they answer the activities
religiously and to study further in topics included in the module being part of the competencies
expected of them to be achieved. Moreover, parents whose children are transferees were reminded
to follow-up lacking documents from the students’ previous school in order to comply all
documents required of them. Finally, some parents inquired regarding the schedule, that is if they
could come beyond their schedule. Their favor was granted as some parents are working as well to
make the schedule favorable to them as well.
Since there were no other matters to be discussed at hand, the orientation ended at exactly 11:15 in
the morning.
