Other Ideas For The Day
● Lunch Periods: (Fundraising, Kindness) Table set up at lunch to send a
Kindness gram to peers in different classes or peers they don't normally
interact with. These “grams” will be distributed to the students on P.S. I
Love You Day (Friday) or during Respect for All week
o bag of candy, stickers, flowers? $1 each
o Raffle basket $1 tickets
● Make a huge sign that says “KIND”, but leave out the “I”. When students
stand in front of it for pictures they will take the place of the I. Have the
saying “Be The I in Kind” either around the big KIND words, or for student
to hold
● Cultural awareness day (Maybe for RFA week) - wear clothing that is the
color of their families flag
● Classroom contest to decorate their door
● “Box full of me” - Get small boxes with lids. Students will cut out words
from a magazine that represent them and on the outside of the box put the
words that others see, and on the inside have words that not everyone
knows
● Or do same magazine cut outs but on poster board about who they are
● An activity about not being able to take hurtful words back. Whether it is
ripping up a piece of paper, crumbling a flower etc - Once we say
something it’s difficult to take it back, no matter how hard we try
● Have kids write down 20 things that are positive about themselves, then
use those 20 words to create a picture
● Drawing activity: Each person gets a piece of paper and has 2-3 minutes to
draw something. The paper is then passed to the person next to them, who
adds to the drawing, this continues until all students get their drawing back.
o Discussions about flexible thinking:
▪ Did the photo turn out the way you originally planned?
▪ What does it mean to collaborate and work together?
▪ Pressure of only having 2-3 mins to do what you want

● An activity about not being able to take hurtful words back. Whether it is
ripping up a piece of paper, crumbling a flower etc - Once we say
something it’s difficult to take it back, no matter how hard we try
Have students define the bully / bullying
Have students define the word bystander
Have a class discussion on what it means to be a bystander
Watch this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cN3Ep-va5k

Have students write down notes from the video and then discuss.
