COURSE SYLLABUS
CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGY

Description: This course deals with the analysis of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and
moral development and changes from childhood to adolescent with emphasis on behavioral
patterns, interests, values and sources of conflicts. The understanding of this course will aid the
students to be more committed and responsive with genuine love and concern for others.

Course Objectives: The students are expected to:


 Discuss and acquire a working knowledge of essential concept, theories and principles of
human development
 Compare and contrast the different stages of human development
 Analyze and relate how significant findings in researches related to the course
contribute or enhance the development of the human persons
 Realize the importance of developing the individual holistically
 Manifest maturity in dealing of different age levels
 Show concern and assistance to the needs of others
 Relate/demonstrate better adjustments to conflicts and problems of life
 Contribute in building a cluster of community by responding to the needs of the church
and country
 Prepare a checklist on the attitudes and study habits of the learners.
