This year we have a wide range of things to see.There are

drama shorts, documentaries and photographic work
that has been shot locally, nationally and internationally,
all of it creating some sort of impact: whether that be
through content, creative skill or the message of the

The reason I want to work in media is because I feel as if I have a place I have a true passion for the media, while studying media
in the industry whether it be a small part or a big part, I know my
production I have achieved a number of skills for my future
abilities and what I am capable of. Including the three years of being

I believe that documentary is a window into people’s lives,

My project is about the :Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The canal
is famous in China, just like the Great Wall and the Yellow River. But

function of the canal is change from transport to tourists in current

Canal, show their daily life and attitude about the destiny. Through
my project, I want to get more attention to protect the culture of

Having studied the art of Media over several years has given me When working with a camera it reminds me that I am

My name is Ross Jenkins and I was born in 1982 in the city of “If you find job you love you will never work again”

Beach and Media production at Coventry University. I am really
interested in working with all types of diverse media when I
graduate. My final project focuses on combining interactivity
and documentary to create short film with a group of young
people. This project is a collaboration with the Brownies and
combines a mixture of photography, sound and animation. I
explore the ways in which the children imagine their lives when
they grow up with a series of questions which focuses on ‘their
future’.

Blasters; an Indian drum and dance group for seven years has meant
that I have experienced the music industry which fits into another form
of media. Furthermore taking part and helping with the organisation of
events such as 501 which was held in 2009; an attempt for the Guinness
World Records which we successfully attained as well as taking part in
organising charity event Music Build Bridges 2010 have all been factors
which have contributed to me being able to apply myself to group work
and to perform/communicate well in a team. Finally carrying out my
work experience at The Drum, The National Centre for Black British
Arts and Culture as a technician for a total of two months has enabled
me to understand work in a professional environment.

University as student helped me a lot to become a

My passion for creativity started out in fine art, which

I am Jimmy Allen. For my final project I am making a short film. I love
short film. Before university I never really had any idea about it, but in
my second year I found what makes it so good. University has opened
to my eyes to many things. I feel like my horizons have been broadened,
that I’ve seen more of the world, and that I’ve met some amazing people
along the way. In the future I hope to continue exploring, learning, and
possibly even teaching. I hope that my experiences taken from university
help me along the way.

think he’s just a tad weird, when in actuality he is very weird. An obsession
with the TV show Spaced and it’s director Edgar Wright have taught him
that his projects don’t have to be very serious and can include many
ridiculous things, which they tend to do. His favourite projects to date
were Guy’s Night Out and Time Phone both of which are extremely silly.

a filmmaker. Gaining many useful skills and even a distribution
contract for one short film produced at college,Tom moved on to
university where the quality of his work took a massive leap. Not
content to stay in his comfort zone, Tom is now working on a 45
minute film/TV pilot, determined to go bigger, better and more
ambitious than ever before. His time travel sci-fi story is already
getting attention from people all over the world. And this is just
the beginning. You ain’t seen nothing yet.

I am an award winning writer director for the films PAL, best
film under 80 minutes at the Swansea Bay Film Festival which
premiered at an Odeon cinema, and The Cupboard of Doom
at the 48 Hour Film Challenge. I have been huge fan of cinema
since spending my summer holidays helping my Dad in a video
rentals store, and since then my days have been filled with
movies, whether it is watching them, reading about them or
making them. I am an avid collector of anything movie related
and I take inspiration from all forms of cinema. I aspire to
become known as the next Hitchcock, and produce cinematic
movies worthy of that title.

film. I am always keen to explore the edges of reality and go
beyond in order to materialize the unknown. I am not only
editing motion images but putting my thoughts together,
creating a new dimension that expresses my vision and
makes use of my technical skills. I am constantly learning and
implementing new techniques aspiring to produce high-end
artefacts using the latest methods available. My passion is
my work and my work is my passion.
Matt has always having a passion for watching film and T.V.

interests is the fact that I enjoy working outside and in
different locations. This is the main reason I have chosen
to do a travel documentary and why I enjoy working on
set as an A.D on films instead of being in an office or on
a studio set.

range of skills including creating media artefacts
such as film, photography and radio. Throughout
her time at university she developed a passion for

for the things I have produced while at University. I saw
my final production as a great way of showing what my
creative ability is, and a way of allowing my roots to come
through. In the future, I see myself expanding on short film
and returning to fine art- with a wider range of skills than
what I had before.
I am Jennifer Webb and video editing is what I do best. I
like how I can take raw footage and make it into something
that draws people in and gets them to watch. Whatever the
software may be, I like to challenge myself by exploring what
each one has to offer and how it works to get me to the
end point – even if it is unfamiliar. I could not edit without
the ability to tell a story. This is something that is crucial
when deciding what cuts to make and how to arrange what
is left. With a solid plan - i.e. a story - there is something to
work towards, providing a backbone throughout the whole
process. What excites me most about video editing is the
room for exploration and learning. Whilst working on a
project, I always discover more techniques and tricks which
can enhance my work.
