since I graduated my senior high school in San Pedro college, living with the Dominican pillars

for almost four years now really change my life as a student. And being part of a Dominican
family molds me to become the best version of myself, they teach me how to contemplate truth
and share with others the fruit of this contemplation". We know that to be successful preachers,
like breathing in and out, we need both: to contemplate the Word and the world at the same time,
our reflection on the world needs a direct and free-response that brings us to action. So we
behave and consciously ponder, contemplatively. that's why it is important to know the true
meaning of the four Dominican pillars which are prayer, study, Community, Ministry/Apostolate
to better appreciate our journey as a student.

as a future dedicated nurse, my life as a student is hard, that is why prayer is a powerful thing
because this is where I develop my relationship with God and this is where I learn what true love
looks like. As that love grows, so does my willingness to know God grow more profoundly. by
this, I learn regularly to schedule my time to pray, to study the Gospel, to read literature, and
lastly, to write down my thoughts and dilemmas in life. Hence, like a Dominican, it is our
responsibility to study to improve our understanding of Christ and to be able to talk honestly and
sufficiently about the teaching of the Church to express to others the goodness of the Gospel
which may impact one person, a local community, or the global community. In SPC,
our community is growing and we are not just living under one roof, but as brothers and sisters.
Since we have all been created in God's image and likeness, we all have God in us. We are
attracted to communion with others through the need to know God and we can find in others our
devotion, Jesus Christ. We are called in society to use our different abilities and talents to help
others especially the poor and the disadvantaged. in my stay in SPC, I see different Students take
part in several service/ministry events and donation campaigns during the year to benefit the
less fortunate, and with that, I learn to share my gifts and talents, particularly those in need. and
that's the four pillars that influence my journey in SPC as a student.

In conclusion, The four Dominican Pillars are the standards of life that Dominicans live by.
because it creates an environment full of faith in which students of all religions will flourish in
their spirituality. It's a time when God wants to infuse us with grace, and therefore we bless those
around us and ask the world for God's blessing. All life is God's Word, so we desire to preach it.
