1. Scale coloration of lizards has a complete dominance relationship where green scales are dominant
over blue scales. There are 1,550 individuals with the genotype GG, 691individuals with the genotype
Gg, and 124 individuals with the genotype gg.
Find: the frequency of the dominant and recessive alleles and the frequency of individuals with
dominant, heterozygous, and recessive genotype.

2. After graduation, you and 27 of your closest friends (lets say 10 males and 17 females) charter a
plane to go on a round-the-world tour. Unfortunately, you all crash land (safely) on a deserted island. No
one finds you and you start a new population totally isolated from the rest of the world. Seven of your
friends carry (i.e. are heterozygous for) the recessive cystic fibrosis allele (c). Assuming that the
frequency of this allele does not change as the population grows, what will be the incidence of cystic
fibrosis on your island?

3. The presence of spots in this Ladybird Beetle species is controlled by a single locus. The allele S
confers spots while the allele s confers no spots. A breeding study shows that the S allele is completely
dominant over the s allele. In a random sample of 9,758 individuals 834 completely lack spots.
