SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate understanding of the basic concepts of
limit.
B. Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to formulate and solve accurately real-
life problems involving continuity of functions.
C. Competency: The learners illustrate the limit of a function using a table of values and the
graph of the function. STEM_BC11LC-IIIa-1
Learning Objectives: In this lesson, the students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate understanding of key concepts of limit.

2. identify the limit of the function as x approaches a certain value using a table of values;
and
3. identify the limit of the function as x approaches a certain value using the graph.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

TOPIC: limit

III. Learning Procedure

Motivation:

Play a recorded video. (Calculus-the limit of a function)

a. What can you say about the video?
b. What are the different terms mentioned in the video?

Abstraction:
a. Proceed to the next lesson which is limits
1. Ask the student what is limits?
2. Introduce the limit notation and one and two sided limits.
3. Give example in determining a limit by constructing its table of values.
4. Give example in identify the limit of the function as x approaches a certain value using the
graph.

Application:
(Determine the limits using the table of values and graph.)
lim 3x
x→0

Evaluation:
Directions: Determine the limits of the following using the table of values. (3 points each)
1. lim ( 𝑥 2 − 1)
x→1
2. lim √2x
x→2

Assignment: : Determine the limits of the following using the table of values and graphically.

1
1. lim =
x→0 x

2. lim 2𝑥 2
x→1
