1. What is the definition of “Text structures” or “Organizational patterns”?

An organization pattern is one that determines the structure, order, and relationship of
the ideas (variables) of a writing or speech, it can also be called a sequence logic. And
text structure is understood as the ways of globally organizing information in a text, both
in terms of form and content, acquires meaning when related to the contents that make
up the macrostructure of the text.

2. Mention 5 types of “Text structures” or “Organizational patterns” and define

what is the function of each one.

Type of “Text structures” or Function

“Organizational patterns”
Coherence Coherence allows the text to be conceived as a
unit of meani ng, so that the different parts are

related to the theme, or the main idea and the
reader can understand the global meaning.
Main idea  An idea can be main because it summarizes what
was said or because it provokes it. Therefore, it

contains the global message of the text, its most
important and essential content, the one from
which all the others emanate.
Cause and effect This structure presents the causal relationship
between a specific event, idea, or concept and the

events, ideas, or concept that follow.
The classification  According to its purpose or textual strategy, we
can differentiate between expository,

argumentative, narrative, and descriptive texts.
Depending on your area of interest, we can
differentiate between literary, journalistic,
advertising, legal, administrative, or academic
texts.
Paragraph It is the smallest writing unit that explains and
develops the meaning of an idea. A paragraph has

several sentences, all containing the same key
word that controls the information.
3. What are the characteristics of “Text structure” or “Organizational
pattern” called “Cause and effect”?

They explain the reasons why something happened or the effects of something. Cause
and effect writing is generally used in expository (to explain, describe, or inform - give
information) and persuasive (to persuade, develop a logical argument, or give an
opinion) writing styles.

4. What are the characteristics of “Text structure” or “Organizational

pattern” called “Chronological order?

It is used when information in a passage is organized by the time in which each event
occurred, it is organized chronologically. Nonfiction passages that are organized
chronologically often contains dates. Fiction passages or narratives are more subtle and
are organized chronologically but usually have no dates. A narratives or story is a
journey through time, and all the events are arranged in order of time; therefore, every
story has a beginning, middle, and end.

5. Read the next text carefully:

LAW

1 Law commonly refers to a system of rules created and enforced through social or
governmental institutions to regulate behavior, with its precise definition a matter of
longstanding debate. It has been variously described as a science and the art of
justice.
2 State-enforced laws can be made by a group legislature or by a single legislator,
resulting in statutes; by the executive through decrees and regulations; or
established by judges through precedent, usually in common law jurisdictions.
Private individuals may create legally binding contracts, including arbitration
agreements that adopt alternative ways of resolving disputes to standard court
litigation. The creation of laws themselves may be influenced by a constitution,
written or tacit, and the rights encoded therein. The law shapes politics, economics,
history, and society in various ways and serves as a mediator of relations between
people.

3 Law's scope can be divided into two domains. Public law concerns government
and society, including constitutional law, administrative law, and criminal law. Private
law deals with legal disputes between individuals and/or organizations in areas such
as contracts, property, torts/delicts, and commercial law. This distinction is stronger
in civil law countries, particularly those with a separate system of administrative
courts; by contrast, the public-private law divide is less pronounced in common law
jurisdictions.

4 Law provides a source of scholarly inquiry into legal history, philosophy, economic
analysis, and sociology. Law also raises important and complex issues concerning
equality, fairness, and justice.

6. From the previous text, identify: what is the “Text structure” or “Organizational
pattern” of the 3rd paragraph?

From my point of view I can say that the structure of the text found the "paragraph and
coherence", as we could see in the corresponding paragraph, the coherence is more
than evident, because with the correct words that the fragment handles it can be clearly
understood , what the author of the text wants to imply (which in this case, is what the
two types of law work on), also within coherence we have the main idea, which helps us
understand what the text is about in general.

The paragraph is the one that separates the text, but the main idea is still present (the
way in which the law operates).

7. Justify in detail and with fundaments your previous answer and mention the
reason (s) why you chose that “Text structure” or “Organizational pattern”.

We can say that its foundation is within the theory, because throughout the career in
which I am studying, we always have in mind the main idea of the law "to regulate the
behavior of the human being before society", that is why In the third paragraph he
mentions the two types of law (in reality there are more), but how was it that I found
coherence and the paragraph? The coherence that follows a sequence of information
and the objective that the author tries to convey within the text, and the paragraph by
which each of them gradually develops the real meaning of the main idea. That in the
theoretical part, in real life we can see great examples that are very evident.

8. Write a summary of the previous text including the main idea of the text as well
as the most important ideas of it. Write it with your own words in a minimum of 8
lines.

SUMMARY: The main thing is that the law will always be present for society since it will
always (since history) oversee regulating the behavior of the human being. But we must
remember that laws or legislatures are created by the legislative power and the judicial
and executive powers will be responsible for giving it validity and verifying that it is not a
dead letter.

But the laws not only apply to society, but they also apply to states, municipalities,
delegations, etc. (well they are also in the circle of society) as well as for the economy,
art, education among other activities that people develop. But each law that is created
must be based on human rights or international treaties, or rather must be very hand in
hand with the Mexican constitution.

We, the students, know the two classic differences of law, as one of them is public law:
that the government and society supported by the constitution, and the second is private
law: that this is the rights and obligations that must be fulfilled the subject, as well as
acts are penalized, there is a lack of data that must be reflected, that is why the study of
our career never ends.
