Andres Bonifacio College BS in Accountancy

REACTION PAPER:

On the 2nd and 3rd day of February, the college community of Andres Bonifacio
College inaugurated its first virtual business conference that was organized by the
Dipolog Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. in coordination with the Department
of Trade and Industry for Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME’s) and other
stakeholders. During the two-day conference, several sourced and prominent speakers
from different organizations such as; PCCI, DTI, DOLE, DOST, BFP, Philippine Red Cross
and among others discussed about a lot of important topics in relation to assisting
business establishments towards their development, where it highlights the theme;
“Resiliency in Action: Road to Economic Recovery for Zamboanga Del Norte”.

There were three main objectives that the said virtual business conference aims to
adhere and the first two were definitely achieved on the first day, while the third
objective was realized on the second day. In a nutshell, all of us who listened and
attended the conference are fortunate enough to participate on that event, especially
those business sectors that are mostly part of the MSME’s and who were greatly
affected by the pandemic. Notably, the Dipolog Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Inc. arranged the said conference and invited some credible speakers to promote and
talk about the contents of providing our MSME’s with some economic recovery
programs and educate them with the necessary knowledge to rebuild their business
from different challenges and support them with various important information that they
can absolutely use for their respective businesses. In a get go, all of the talks were
about business facilitation, investment and trade promotions, all of the major programs
and projects offered by the DTI and DOLE for MSME’s, as well as the necessary
precautions and measurements to avoid disastrous phenomenon’s within your business.
More so, the business conference was not only intended for the MSME’s from Dipolog
and Dapitan City, but the meet was also open for SBME/Graduate School students
around the vicinity. By this event, it will be definitely helpful for us when we decide to
start up a business venture in the future; at least, we now have the primary grip to build
our very own business establishment.

Nonetheless, I am genuinely happy that I have instilled a preamble on the variety of

programs that different government organizations have been offering to MSME’s with
their recovery from experiencing adversities, which in this current case; the pandemic.
Conclusively, the virtual business seminar was entirely educational and beneficial not
only for business sectors but for us SBME students as well.
