ACTIVITY 1:
Answer the following questions comprehensively.

1. From your own knowledge and understanding, how would you define the
sport badminton?
- One way to enhance our mental and physical well-being is by engaging ourselves
through sports, and one of which that is very popular around the world is the Badminton.
As for me, badminton is a racket sport that can be played by two opposing players in a
rectangular court, which is divided by a net. It may be executed by singles or by teams
which is doubles. To gain a score, both players/teams must hit the shuttlecock using their
racket such that it crosses the net and landing it into the side of the court occupied by
their opponent. Moreover, badminton can be also some type of recreational game that
serves as a fun and exercising activity for people especially the youth.

2. Give at least 3 sentences that portray the importance of Sports Events such
as badminton in an individual?
- Evidently, badminton is deemed to be a total body exercise that does not only boost your
physical attributes such as; mobility, strength, agility, flexibility, etc. but also improves
your mental health and abilities as well like; it develops your focus, alleviate stress,
anxiety, and depression. By that, it can reduce your chance of getting sick, especially
relating to heart problems; hence, it improves your overall well-being as a person and as
an individual in your community. Therefore, we can conclude that badminton, as well as
the other sports, really provides a lot of benefits that makes us better versions of our
selves which is really relevant.

GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS:


1.This is an individual activity.
2.Each player must find a wall to perform the wall hitting
drill.
3.Starting with a forehand grip, students hit shuttlecocks
against wall continuously.
4.Students switch to backhand grip after 1 ½ minutes and
continue hitting shuttlecock against wall for another 1 ½
minutes.
5.The player will be given 3 trials.
6.The teacher will record the performance on the 3rd trial.
7.You will be graded according to the following number of
hits on both forehand and backhand grip.

Badminton Commercial video presentation:

Task briefer:
As we go through the topics of PE 111: The fundamental
individual and dual sports, it is essential to explore the
student’s creativity in dealing the various concepts of social
media materials including the video making in a commercialize
ways.
You shall be tasked to create a commercial video
presentation showcasing the four common strokes in Badminton.
Task Reminders:
1.The Commercial video can be done either individually and/or
by pair (rate scoring matter).
2.The duration of the video shall be five to ten minutes only.
3.As stated, the students shall embody the four common strokes
in Badminton and present it in a creative way just like in
the commercials on tv.
4.The student’s creativity has no limit. Therefore, think
outside of the box emphasizing the performance of the four
common strokes in Badminton.
5.Students will discuss benefits of this sport and what
changes/modifications can be made to allow anyone to play.
6.The students shall use the School’s PE uniform. If
unavailable, the student may use any outfit that may deemed
necessary for the task.
7.Badminton Racket and shuttlecock are required in presenting
the four common strokes in badminton.
