Roles and Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities
— Engage with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
— Identify, recover, and prevent financial losses/overbillings and limit third party risk due to non-
compliance with construction contract/agreements during/post the construction phase of the
project.
— Enhance contract compliance audit processes and strengthen project internal controls.
— Enhance transparency and thereby increase project returns.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities
— Obtain greater visibility to project costs and fees through intensive study of construction
agreements and other contractual documents between project owner, contractors, sub-tiers,
suppliers etc.
— Identify and address contract non-compliance through detailed review and analysis of construction
contracts and other documents, development of construction cost audit work plan and
testing/scrutiny of projects costs incurred and billed
— Review of project cost reports to understand contractors/subcontractors accounting and invoicing
process with an objective to mitigate risk and validation of contractors payment applications
— Perform thorough data analysis and review of supplier, customer, or business partner accounting
records to identify and recover overpayments and revenue leakages.
— Provide recommendations to strengthen construction contract language, improve financial terms,
and enhance internal controls
— Act as Engagements Lead to ensure that we deliver high quality to our member firms.
— Helping to define and assess the engagement scope, goals and deliverables
— Taking care of the engagement budget, documentation, and resourcing
— Delivering updates on the progress and possible risk in an engagement
— Managing and resolving issues as they arise and creating back up plans if they occur
— Reporting and documenting progress to communicate with the team and key stakeholders
— Perform Quality Checks of deliverables to ensure that we deliver high quality to our member
firms.
— Guiding/mentoring juniors on multiple engagements

Other responsibilities include:


— Broader project oversight and monitoring functions for large capital projects
— Project reviews to evaluate percentage of completion and reasonableness of the estimate to
complete construction,
— Project Cost and Schedule management
— Change Management
— Work with engagement teams to perform field work, including data collection, analysis, and work
paper documentation; prepare, edit, and proofread narrative reports and presentations of
observations and recommendations
Job Requirements
Education background
— Graduate / Engineering background (REC/NIT/IIT etc.) and MBA
— Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Construction
Management, or a related field from an accredited college/university.
— Post Graduate from NICMAR or candidates holding certifications from PMI, Construction
Federation of India (CFI certified), or other professional certification is preferred

Mandatory Skills
— Subject matter expert (SME) of construction contracts, construction projects costs, change
management, cost reports, contractors billings etc.
— Industry knowledge and awareness of latest trends in Infrastructure sector and sub-sectors
— In-depth understanding of project management process
— Data Management and Analysis
— Excellent with Excel and PowerPoint
— Knowledge of P6 and MSP, Power BI or any other tool will be added advantage

Preferred Skills
— Financial evaluation of projects
— Project Schedule Review and Monitoring
— Knowledge and understanding of key trends like Sustainability/ESG/technological
advancement etc.
— Excellent communication skills
— Critical thinking and Problem solving
— Demonstrated ability to build a transparent and cohesive team
