Late arrival, early departure Interfacing with other operations
To illustrate the data collection procedure, consider a simple process involving the shuttering of a pier column. The produc
unit identified for this was the actual placement of a MS Pier Shutter. The production cycle began with the lifting of shutte
and concluded when that same shutter was temporarily installed. The leading resource was the mobile crane used to place
the MS Pier Shutter. The cycle times were timed by reviewing the time-lapse film of the operation.
