This research is conducted in Beirut’s schools. A total of 665 students, including 344 girls and 321
boys, take part in the study.  The students ranged in age from 12 to 18 years  and their grade level
ranged from grade 7 to grade 9. 285 students are from public schools, and 380 students are from
private schools. First, they ask students two questions; 1- “In the past two months, how often have
others done this to you?” and 2- “In the past two months, how often have you taken part in this
kind of behavior toward others?” And students answer as  never, once or twice, sometimes, about
once a week, and several times a week. According to these answers, students are categorized as a
bully, victim, bully/victim and  not involved. Also they ask students another lots of questions to
specify their “behavioral and emotional disorders, the family environment and school
environment” and according to students’ answers, they classify it as age, gender, school,
environment, psychology. Results show us that prevalence of bullying behavior among school-age
children is 53.4% and the victim category is more than bully or bully/victim categories. Also, they

find that rumors is the most common type of victimization and the second one is rejected from a
group. Some of ways of victimisation are being threatened or forced to do things, being bullied
physically and being bullied about one's religion. About age, children in the victim category are
younger than children in the bully/victim category and also there is no differences between public
and private schools. Bullying and victimization are more prevalent among boys than among girls.
