For our first virtual room I provided deeper insights in the concept of
Leadership introduced by Hersey and Blanchard (perhaps you still remember
the last chart?):
What to do:
Read the ideas carefully and then, for this lecture I would ask you to
reflect on two things: What is your personally preferred style according to
this theory?
The question, I would like you to answer (via mail until the end of September 2014),
is: "Which situational leadership style should the leader use in the following
examples? “
Please also give a short reason for your decision and reflect on how easy it was for
you to decide, which style to choose.

3 You are medical director of the hospital, where Martin Trawyer is working
as deputy head of the Neurosurgery (“Oberarzt”) for eight years. He

department. Due to an illness of the Station’s head, Primarius
Rokitansky, who replaced Dr. Trawyer’s boss three years ago, he
volunteered to head the station.

As a skilled texter he is working as a secretary now. He feels underrated
sometimes, but you decided to let him manage a logistics project, as you
have no marketing project in the moment.

5 The head of your new Marketing-Team is Anna Sacora, she was hired from a
highly respected advertising agency and is very experienced. Up to now she
has implemented the milestones of the project efficiently. “I think,
it’s a great idea!”, she told you lately.
