Chinese Government Scholarship Brochure of XSYU

In order to sponsor students and scholars around the world to study and research
in Chinese universities, promote friendship and mutual understanding, broaden the
cooperation and exchange in education, science, culture, and trade between China and
countries around the globe, Chinese government offers Chinese Government
Scholarship to facilitate this cause. Authorized by the Ministry of Education of China,
Xi’an Shiyou University is now entitled to enroll international students for
bachelor、master and doctoral degree under Chinese Government Scholarship.

 First: The first petroleum engineering and petro-chemical engineering university in

extend.

Scholarship Scope and Standard

1). CSC scholarship, covering the following:
A. Tuition fee and accommodation fee.
B. Living allowance for Bachelor students:2500 RMB/Month, master students:
3000RMB/Month and doctoral students: 3500RMB/Month.
C. Offering outpatient medical service and comprehensive medical insurance
purchased by the Ministry of Education of China. 
Note:
1) Those who seek to intern or do lab research outside teaching plan will
responsible for the extra expenses.
2) Accommodation Fee: Student have to live in the appointed campus dormitory.
The university will offer free electricity and water within certain quota, and
student will responsible for extra spending.
3)  The living allowance will be regularly paid on a monthly basis after school
registration. New students who register before 15 (including 15) in the first month
will be paid in full, otherwise, will be paid in half. After the day of graduation, the
graduate will still get living allowance for half a month. Living allowance for students
under suspension, dropouts or students who completed studies will be stopped starting
from the following month. During school scheduled vacation, the living allowance
will be paid as usual; those who cannot receive it because of leave during the vacation
will receive it after return. Students fail to register in time or finish leave procedure,
or leave school not out of health reason, or play absenteeism for over a month, the
living allowance of that month will be canceled.  
Students who apply for school suspension out of serious illness should return to
their homeland for better care, and the returning fare is at their own expenses. During
the suspension, the living allowance will be put on hold. Furthermore, the school
suspension period should last no longer than 1 year, otherwise the scholarship will be
terminated for good.
4) Comprehensive Medical Insurance for International Students under Chinese
Government Scholarship is purchased by the Ministry of Education of PRC, which
covers serious illness and unexpected bodily injury of inpatient. The university will
take the medical receipt to competent insurance company according to fixed insurance
clause. The insurance company will not accept individual claims.

Application
1)  Applicants Requirements
A. Non-Chinese citizen, healthy, no criminal record.
B. Non-international students in China.
C. Age 18-25, holding senior high school graduation diploma and excellent study
records when applying for the undergraduate programs; Age under 35, with bachelor
degree and excellent study records when applying for the master's programs; Age
under 40, with master degree and excellent study records when applying for the
doctoral programs.
D. HSK level 4 or above, otherwise applicants must take 1 year Chinese course
after enrollment, to prepare and pass the required HSK test before respective chosen
academic programs.
2) Method
Applicants should log on the website portal of
CSC: http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or  http://www.campuschina.org to finish
the online application. University Code is 10705 and select type is Type B.
3) Application Documents (Applicants should submit two sets of bound
documents)
A. Application Forms for Chinese Government Scholarship (filled in Chinese or
in English). The standard application form is made by CSC and available
at http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or http://www.campuschina.org under the
column of regular forms.
B. Highest diploma (notarized photocopy). For students haven’t receive diploma,
shall provide completion letter. Documents in languages other than Chinese or
English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
C. Official university transcript. Documents in languages other than Chinese or
English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
D. Recommendation letters: Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or
English from professors or associate professors.
E. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (The original copy
should be kept by the applicant. The form printed by Chinese quarantine authority
could be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina
or http://www.campuschina.org .
F. Valid passport copy.
G. Study or research plan: In Chinese or in English, no less than 800 words.
H. Copy of required HSK level. (If Have)
