PARMANU

SYNOPSIS

Parmanu – The Story of Pokhran is based on a true storey about how India became a nuclear
power by secretly constructing nuclear bombs and testing them in the Pokhran desert in
Rajasthan at breakneck pace while keeping the rest of the world in the dark until the explosions
were finally carried out. The storey begins in 1995. The Prime Minister's Principal Secretary,
Shukla (Boman Irani), sends Ashwat Raina (John Abraham) to command the team that will
commence nuclear activity in Pokhran. . Under the secret name Krishna, Ashwat Raina asks his

Dr. Naresh Sinha, Puru Ranganathan, and Ambalika – to help him construct India's first nuclear
weapons. Dr. Viraf Wadia's code name is Yudhishtir, Major Prem's name is Bheem, Dr. Naresh
Sinha's name is Arjun, Puru Ranganathan's name is Sehdev, and Ambalika's name is Nakul.
Because the operation is classified, the team can only operate when there are no satellites flying
over India in the sky. While the rest are working in the field with labourers, Sehdev is watching
the satellite movements. A Pakistani spy is working with an American scientist at Pokhran. The
two immediately realise that something important is going on in Pokhran, and the American
scientist even informs the lab in the United States about the nuclear activities going on there.

MANAGEMENT LESSONS

ART OF STORYTELLING TO SELL YOUR CONCEPT

The main character, John Abraham, utilised a Mahabharata metaphor to illustrate the five vital
abilities that would be necessary to make overall activities hidden and effective. They drew
inspiration from the Mahabharata, the Hindu sacred text.

DIPLOMACY

The key actor makes good use of this skill set by regularly following up with his superiors,
influencers, and doing his best to attain his ultimate goal. He utilised diplomacy to his advantage,
while first failing to manage his peer network and influences. But, like a genuine leader, he
assembled a team of skilled professionals from many sectors such as ISRO, BARC, Army,
telecommunications, Intelligence, and Research Wing. As in the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna won
the war for the Pandavas without using any weapon or ammunition, only by providing strategic
input to the Pandavas from time to time and allowing the Pandavas to employ their innate
talents.

TEAMWORK

The sharing of information and the team's well-coordinated activities lead to the success of any
operation. Delegating responsibility to specialists and holding them responsible to the entire
project results in good action, which leads to success in any type of business or combat.

LEADERSHIP

In business, leadership is described as a company's management's ability to set and achieve

difficult goals, take rapid and decisive action when necessary, outperform the competition, and
encourage employees to perform at their peak. It is all about making an impact on the thoughts
and behaviours of people you lead. When there is a disagreement between two team members
in the film, Ashwat Raina steps in like a real leader and handles the disagreement to keep
everyone on the team focused on a common objective.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT

Crisis management assists managers in devising methods to emerge from difficult situations and
in deciding on the best course of action for the future. Crisis management enables managers to
detect early symptoms of a crisis, alert employees about the consequences, and take the required
preparations. In the film, there is a stunning show of crisis management when a sandstorm
appears suddenly and blows away all of the coverings. The crew is able to generate the illusion
to save themselves from the satellite's gaze by thinking on their feet.

PLANNING THE PROJECT IN HAND

Planning is a managerial role that entails identifying objectives and determining a course of
action to achieve those objectives. Planning necessitates managers being aware of the
environmental conditions confronting their business as well as forecasting future ones. It also
necessitates that managers make sound decisions. They begin work on the project with "100%
accuracy and 200 percent planning." The project needs a great deal of rigorous and strategic
planning, which is visualised each time a new problem arises. Whether it's due to changes in
satellite blind spot timings or a sandstorm.
