Possible completed Scheme of work

Course Aims:
By the end of the course, students will be able to conduct simple conversations on everyday topics.
They will have improved their understanding of the uses of the present continuous and present simple, and started to use the past
simple.
They should also be able to use simple links such as and, and then, but and because.
There will be a strong emphasis on pronunciation throughout the course.
Objectives:
Students will achieve these aims through reading and listening comprehension practice and a range of speaking and writing activities
Students will give short presentations in pairs at the end of the course.

1 Getting-to-know-you activities/Needs analysis Aims: To expand and practise language for talking about basic personal information

Pronunciation: Focus on the use of contractions (e.g., I'm, isn't,
he's, etc.). Basic stress and intonation patterns for words, short
sentences and simple questions.
