AUSTRALIA POSITIVE CASE OF COVID-19 DAILY

The data used in this analysis consists of the daily of COVID-19 and the number of
socializations for Australia. The data was obtained by worldmeter from 1st may – 5th may
2020 [1]. The value of variable X and Y is on the table below:
Variable 1 2 3 4 5
X: Number of socialization 70 80 60 90 70
Y: Number of positive patients 923 890 885 857 787

A. REGRESSION ANALYSIS
Regression models are statistical sets of processes that are used to estimate or predict
the target or dependent variable on the basis of independent variables. Linear regression is a
simple model that is used to find the relation between a dependent and an independent
variable.

So the fitted model for Australian positive case of covid-19 is,

The value of the intercept is 893.731 people, this means if the value of all variable is zero then
number of positive patients is 893.731. The relationship between number of socialization and
number of positive patients in Australia is negative. If number of socialization increased by
one people then number of positive patients will be decreased by 0.342 given that other
variables are constant.

B. CORRELATION COEFFICIENT AND DETEMINATION COEFFICIENT

 Correlation

So the correlation between number of socialization and number of positive patients in

Australia have a weak negative correlation (r = - 0.076). When one variable increases,
the other variable tends to decrease, but in a weak or unreliable manner.
 Detemination Coefficient
Detemination coefficient (R2) is a statistical measure that represents the proportion of
the variance for a dependent variable that's explained by an independent variable or
variables in a regression model [2].

X Y
70 923 869.769 2833.515 2981.160
80 890 866.346 559.504 466.560
60 885 873.192 139.422 275.560

Total 0 4342 4342.000 10418.269 10479.200

So the detemination coefficient (R2) value of 0.58% indicates that the ability of the
predictor variable in explaining the number of positive patients in Australia is bad, it
can be seen from the low R2 value of 0.58% where the value less than 50%.

C. HYPOTHESIS TESTING FOR 2 SAMPLES

There is a statement that say there are no difference in number of escalations of
Positively infected Patient and Number of Deceased Patient.

Hypothesis is rejected because Z value is more than 1.64. So it can be concluded that there is
difference in number of escalations of Positively infected Patient and Number of Deceased
Patient at Australia.

GREECE POSITIVE CASE OF COVID-19 DAILY

The data used in this analysis consists of the daily of COVID-19 and the number of
socializations for Grace. The data was obtained by worldmeter from 1st may – 5th may 2020

So the fitted model for Australian positive case of covid-19 is,

The value of the intercept is 187.269 people, this means if the value of all variable is zero then
number of positive patients is 187.269. The relationship between number of socialization and
number of positive patients in Greece is positive. If number of socialization increased by one
people then number of positive patients will be increased by 0.942 given that other variables
are constant.

 Correlation

So the correlation between number of socialization and number of positive patients in

Greece have a weak positive correlation (r = 0.117). When variable number of

So the detemination coefficient (R2) value of 1.36% indicates that the ability of the
