Jackie Robison did great things in history as a baseball player. JR.

loved to play baseball and was recognized by others as a great

player. In my opinion the most important factor of success for
Jackie was historical context.

One person who was very important in Jackie Robison success was
president Roosevelt. He banned discrimination in defense contracts, I
know this because on page 19 it says ‘’not long ofter president
Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed an executive oder banning
discrimination in plants working on nation defense contracts.”

Another reason that supports my opinion was that Black athletes in

the Olympics won gold. I know this because page 16 says.”By the end
of the Olympics, Owens had won four gold medals, Mack had won a
silver in the 200/meter dash in the 1936 U.S. The Olympic relay
team victory was more than a personal athletic triumph. Ine team
won one for humanity Ine performances My uncle and other
African American athletes inspired everyone.”

The factor of success that was most important was, in my opinion,

historical context. I believe if Jackie
Robison had not lived in a free society, he
would not have broken the color
barrier.”
