Hi, Wendy!
How are things? I hope you are doing well.
I’m having a wonderful time here in India.
This country is absolutely fascinating and
the people are so friendly and kind.
I have been in Jaipur for three days now
and have visited a dozen places. Jaipur is
called the Pink City of India because most of
its emblematic buildings are pink, such as
the City Palace and the Hawa Mahal. I have
got into and out of many cycle rickshaws to
travel around. A cycle rickshaw is very typical
in India and consists of a bicycle with three
wheels with a covered seat for passengers
behind the driver. The traffic is chaotic and
you can even see cows in the streets. They
have told me cows are sacred animals here
because they are like mothers. They give us
their milk and people respect them all over
India.
Last week, a friend drove me to the Taj
Mahal while I was in Delhi. It’s one of the
most beautiful mausoleums in the world.
An emperor ordered its construction as the
final resting place for his third wife. Isn’t it
romantic?
