the mornings, he wakes up at half past six. He gets up and goes for a run. Then, he has a shower
and gets dressed. He has a quick breakfast and then he brushes his teeth. He leaves the house at
8.00 a.m. He walks to work and gets to the office at about 8.15. He finishes work at 5 o’clock
and walks home. In the evenings, he sometimes watches TV or reads a book. On Saturdays and
Sundays, he has a long slow breakfast and then he goes out with his friends. At weekends, he
usually goes to bed late.

WHAT’S FREE TIME?

Diana Brown is a journalist and works for SKY TV in New York. She doesn’t work on
weekdays, she only works at weekends. She tells us about her weekends and weekdays;
“My weekends are fast and exciting. My weekdays are also very fast. I have two sons. Dylan is
seven and Dakota is five years old. Every morning I get up one hour before them, at 6 o’clock, and I
go to the gym. I come home and I make breakfast, then I take them to school. On Mondays I always
go shopping. I often cook dinner in the evenings, but not every day because I don’t like cooking. On
Tuesdays and Thursdays I visit my father. In the evenings Don and I usually relax, but sometimes we
visit friends. We never go out on Friday evenings because I start work so early on Saturdays.”
