Jollibee’s Chicken Joy

Introduction

Many Filipino families are tend to eat or celebrate in a fast food restaurants such as

Jollibee, a place where many Filipino families gathered one of the food that they always eat or

order is chicken joy, especially by most of children, chicken joy is good in a way that many

families tends to buy it. It is regarded as the number one food on every table, you cannot see a

family eating without chicken joy in their tables. Jollibee is widely known in the Philippines for

its product called “chicken joy” and can be described in many ways regarding quality, taste, and

affordability.

Body

In terms of quality you can say that it is really good. In terms of crispiness, tenderness,

and its goodness. People will not buy it if its quality is not good enough, but not as good as to

those restaurants who mainly sells fried chicken such as KFC

In terms of taste, we can say that it is really tasty, we wouldn’t afford to waste money for

this if it’s not good, the skin really bring out its taste as you eat through the skin all the way

down to the meat it boost the taste of the meat.

Lastly the affordability, all we can say that it is really affordable in terms of customers

who buy it even poverty can buy it. Most of families are going in here to celebrate or for a

lunchbreak and in those orders there were always chickens on it.

Recommendation

Over all the product is good enough to those people who wants the best out of the

cheapest, we really recommend this product to many families. Because as reflected in the given

opinion and as we already tried eating it, many people or families will love it, as also the name

suggest it is really a chicken and a joy for many people who eat it.

PAPER
Chinese Discrimination/Racism in the Philippines

Introduction

In the Philippines many Chinese tourist or even not tourist are being discriminated due to

the NCOV that also started in China. The writer was really sad, as the Philippines was a

Christian country in the first place but the actions we’ve done is not befitting for such country.

That instead of standing as one to fight the virus the people are being divisive in such, the

division between the Filipino Chinese from new immigrants and old immigrants is happening.

Racism doesn’t only victimize certain minorities or communities in our society, it morally

diminishes all of us, it threatens social peace, national unity and national progress.

Body

Arguments

In times of crisis the true color of a person is being drawn for such, a discrimination and

racism occurred damaging the social peace of one’s nation. We are the world says Michael

Jackson, but the world crumbles, without having unity the people manifest traits comparing to an

evil. We are considered lucky enough that the virus did not originate in our country.

The NCOV was originated from Wuhan, China capital of the eastern Chinese province of

Hubei, and has killed more than 200 people and infected more than 10,000. Racism is a real

social problem that needs to be condemned as evil and should be stop in order for the virus of the

people to be ceased and for the nation’s progress start again.

The 7th Generation ethnic Chinese, who has lived in the Philippines his whole life, called

it “unfortunate” and said it goes against the country’s democracy which protects the equal rights

and dignity of all people regardless of ethnic, religious or socio-economic background.

Counter Arguments

The NCOV was really lethal and could endanger many people within the range of

countries that had been infected. That is why in order for people to avoid it, they created some

pressures and tension in both society and social media, which is why many Chinese nationals are

being discriminated or prejudiced.

The fear of the disease which has spread rapidly throughout China has provoked racial

abuse against anyone perceived to be Chinese, “such discrimination will never vanish” stated by

Joao Rangel de Almeida he said that even well-educated people have deep rooted phobias

against people of particular groups or ethnicity

Conclusion

The writer claimed that the “virus separate the unity and trust we built and share on

another”, for such virus the true color of people are drawn. It really diminishes us all, it threatens

the social peace, our national unity and the national progress of one’s country. The

discrimination must be stopped in order for us to help them stand against the virus and for the

social peace to be regained again. And for racism to be stopped, we should not consider some

baseless facts and information that we see on the social media or internet, for it is the root of

people’s virus.

GARBAGE BINS IN
CLASSROOMS
PROPOSED BY:

Banawa, Bobby

PROPOSED TO:

Ms. Shiela Mae Bejar

FEBRUARY 2020
PROJECT TITLE: Garbage Bins in Classroom

The effective way to reduce trash in classrooms and a better way to help students is by

having garbage bins in every classrooms, that instead of asking for plastic bags in cafeteria, by

having one trash bin in the room can be much more efficient in many ways such as the lack of

space in putting garbage can be easily deal with if there is a trash bin, and as the school also

implementing zero-waste management having a trash bin is a good combination for it.
ABSTRACT

Problem Statement

There are so many trashes in every classroom and there isn’t any single bin or anything

that can serve as the trash bags or cans, and due to that many students are asking plastics bags in

cafeteria or either way they just leave it behind in the room and that’s what the problem is the

lack of trash bins in the classroom leave students to suffer.

Project’s Objectives

• To provide garbage container

• To prevent invasion of pest and insects, and to reduce odors

• To provide efficiency of dealing with garbage

• To help students deal with trash

Key Project Activities

This project will be conducted at Batasan Hills National High School. Garbage bins will

be provided in every classrooms of Senior High Building and every day there will be a cleaner

monitor, who will monitor the disposal of garbage from the bins.

Budget

The amount of money needed for this project is approximately 10, 000. The material

needed is garbage containers

CONTEXT

The physical environment of school buildings and school grounds is a key factor in the

overall health and safety of students and teachers, which in turn will have a significant impact on

achievements and overall performance.

Minimising the amount of litter disposed on school grounds is central to a clean and

healthy school environment, also improving the school appearance and reputation, and of course

contributing to environmental sustainability.

For teachers, the importance of putting rubbish in the bin is a lesson they help to instil in

students from an early age. For the principals and bursars of these schools, as well as the

architects and designers who help shape the school environment, ensuring there are sufficient

waste disposal units such as litter bins available for kids to do the right thing.

Much research has been done into the impact the design of an environment has in

facilitating anti-litter behaviour in public spaces such as schools. This research has consistently

found that the amount of littering that occurred was directly related to the number of litter bins

available. It is essential then that schools provide enough litter bins to make it convenient for

students to dispose of litter throughout the entire school grounds, and keep the grounds litter free.

This same research clearly suggests that litter breeds more litter, and therefore keeping

the school grounds free of litter will assist in avoiding a snowball like effect of litter swamped

grounds. Implementing this project in Batasan Hills National Highs School will boost the zero-

waste management that has been implemented in the school, and helping the students to deal

with trash or garbage easily and efficiently.

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION

Problem Statement

There are so many trashes in every classroom and there isn’t any single bin or anything

that can serve as the trash bags or cans, and due to that many students are asking plastics bags in

cafeteria or either way they just leave it behind in the room and that’s what the problem is the

lack of trash bins in the classroom leave students to suffer.

Priority Needs

This project will need the support of everyone especially the School Administration.

Participation of the students also will be needed. Teachers and Principal will greatly appreciated.

Through the collective effort of everyone, this project will be successful.

RESEARCH REPORT

IDENTIFYING STRUGGLES ENCOUNTERED BY SELECTED SENIOR HIGH

SCHOOL STUDENTS IN PRACTICAL RESEARCH

Introduction

This study aimed to find out the perception of the respondents on the importance

of undertaking research, and the struggles encountered by selected students in doing research in

terms of the following stages: (i) preparing the proposal, (ii) conducting the research, and (iii)

writing the research paper, and to determine the measures undertaken to pursue research despite

the difficulties encountered in the a fore mentioned stages. (I’Anson, R. and Smith, K. 2004).

The researchers added personal struggles to determine if the personal problem affects the

productivity of the student in creating the research and also according to Logan (n.d), any time

personal problems could occupy some of the cognitive capacity and interfere academic pursuits.

Methods

This research study uses the Descriptive Quantitative Survey Design. Descriptive

research is defined as a research method that describes the characteristics of the population or

phenomenon that is being studied. This methodology focuses more on the “what” of the research

subject rather than the “why” of the research subject (QuestionPro Inc, n.d). As this research

study is a descriptive, the researchers will focus on describing the struggles dealt by the students

who are taking research. The dependent and independent variables are the (students) who are

dependent while (struggles) as the independent variable.

The population of this study focuses only on Senior High Students being the most

productive in doing research. The study used a purposive sampling. Purposive sampling is a non-

probability sampling method and it occurs when “elements selected for the sample are chosen by

the judgment of the researcher. Researchers often believe that they can obtain a representative

sample by using a sound judgment, which will result in saving time and money”. Black (2010).

The researchers use purposive homogenous sampling as they will only targeting the

leaders or the most productive in each research groups. Homogeneous sampling is a purposive

sampling technique that aims to achieve a homogeneous sample; that is, a sample whose units

(e.g., people, cases, etc.) share the same (or very similar) characteristics or traits (e.g., a group of

people that are similar in terms of age, gender, background, occupation, etc.). In this respect,

homogeneous sampling is the opposite of maximum variation sampling. A homogeneous sample

is often chosen when the research question that is being address is specific to the characteristics

of the particular group of interest, which is subsequently examined in detail. (Dissertation Laerd

2012)

A set of online survey questionnaires will be used as the instrument for the study. There

will be 9 sets of questionnaires that will be asked to the selected students. Each set will consist of

ten questions of regarding with the importance and different struggles concerning with preparing

the proposal, conducting the research, and writing the research paper as well as the measures

taken to pursue or resolve that certain struggle. The questions are to be answered by using Likert

scale, the researchers will have the students to rate each struggles if they are agree, strongly

agree, disagree, strongly disagree in that certain question. The researchers found the instrument

from another study that is most likely similar to this one but a little different, the researchers
added a measures to be taken to pursue those certain struggles. “Struggle and Survive:

Difficulties encountered by Students Undertaking Research” Evangelista and Arellano (2016)

The study will use percentage distribution for the demographics. The study will also use the

mean to get the average or the central value to quantify the data of Likert type of question. To

interpret the data the interquartile range will be used to identify the median in the computed

mean. To determine the minimum and the maximum length of the 5-point Likert type scale, the

range is calculated by (5 − 1 = 4) then divided by five as it is the greatest value of the scale (4 ÷ 5

= 0.80). Afterwards, number one which is the least value in the scale was added in order to

identify the maximum of this cell. The length of the cells is determined below:

From 1 to 1.80 From 1.81 until From 2.61 until From 3:41 until From 4:21 until

Results

Demographic

Out of 146 respondents, there were 72 (49%) of male respondents answer the online

survey and 74 (51%) are the females who answer the given survey. The total number of the

respondents is used as the total sample size. The results were based on their experience and it

should be tried-and-true.

Dominant Struggles
The researcher identifies the dominant struggles by picking out the certain statement in

each struggle; it is shown in the table 7.

In terms of personal struggles the dominant struggle was cooperation between research

partners, having 45.21% (66) respondents agreed.

In terms of preparing the proposal, determining the usefulness of the results was strongly

agreed by the respondents, having 56.17% (82) respondents agreed.

In terms of conducting the research, they strongly agreed that tallying of responses was

their struggle, having 56.17% (82) respondents agreed

In the table 2 the measures to be taken are shown in pursuing the preparation of the

proposal was shown. As can be noted in the table reading other researches is the most strongly

agreed measure by the respondents, having 65.07% (95) respondents agreed. Other statements

strongly agreed by the respondents were: examining in general the information, research studies,

data and theories relating to the research, 64.38% (94); deciding appropriate research design for

the problem or topic, 61.64% (90); determining the setting that is more convenient to the

researcher, 52.74% (77); identifying the research problem an determining the relevance of

solving the problem to society and profession, both having 52.05% (76); identifying the variables

in the study, 50.68% (74); and studying the steps to be used in conducting the research, 50%

(73). Some measures were only agreed by the respondents these are: establishing significance of

the results to the field, 48.63% (71); and reading literature with which to base the items of the

questionnaire, 33.56% (49).

Considering the difficulties encountered by student-researchers in writing a proposal,

there are measures which they need to take into consideration for them to be able to pursue the

activity. Since research is an academic activity, student-researchers need to have knowledge of

how to do research. Being enrolled in a research course enables the students to gain knowledge

of how to go about research activities. Bocar, A (2011)

Discussion

The researchers found out that the conclusion are based on the findings produced in this study.
1. The researchers concluded that the respondents of the study were mostly female,

researchers identified that most female respondents are the ones who are productive in

making research therefore, they are the ones who struggle the most in doing research.

2. The researchers identified the struggles that are strongly agreed by the respondents in

terms of:

2.1 Personal Struggles – The cooperation between research partners was

their most struggles, having 66 (45.21%) respondents agreed.

2.2 Preparing the Proposal - Determining the usefulness of the results was

a struggle, with a percentage of 56.17% (82).

2.3 Conducting the Research - Tallying of the responses after data

gathering was strongly agreed by the respondents having 56.16% (82)

respondents agreed.

2.4 Writing the Research Paper - Rewriting the proposal into a final

research format was strongly agreed by the respondents having 46.5%

(68) respondents strongly agreed.

The researchers concluded from the Personal struggles that personal problems are one of the

struggles that affect the student’s productivity. Ameen, Batool, and Naveed (2018) stated that the

results indicated that loss of conceptual readability, terrible time control, and lacks of research

tradition have been the principal problems confronted via the individuals.

The researchers concluded from the struggles of Preparing the Proposal that choosing a

research topic is the first and one of the most crucial stages of the process. As pointed out by

Easterby-Smith et al. (cited in Anson and Smith, 2004), it is very rare for students to have a clear
focus from the outset of their research, and many find this lack of a clear focus to be a major

impediment to getting started.

The researchers concluded from the struggles of Writing the Research Paper that not all

students can write. This is a fact that the researcher can learned upon teaching the research

course. There were students who were unable to formulate a sentence which is logical and free

from grammatical errors. This is one challenge that the student-researchers need to face so that

they may be able to arrive at a meaningful research paper. Bocar, (2011)

3. Measures are taken to pursue research despite the struggles encountered in the following

stages of practical research in terms of the resolving personal struggles, pursue preparing the

proposal, pursue conducting research, and pursue writing the research paper.

In overall of the measures to be taken, the researchers concluded that every statement that stated

to be the measure is reliable and true-stated by the respondents, therefore the measures can be

used as the method for students who are struggling in research.
