Abstract—A novel resonator-loaded wideband dual-polarized advantages of wide impedance bandwidth, stable radiation
antenna is proposed for LTE700/GSM850/GSM900 applications. patterns, enhanced gain and high isolation over the whole
Four single-polarized miniaturized antenna elements are placed operating band, which is desirable for LTE700/GSM850
with square arrangement upon the reflector for dual-polarization.
/GSM900 base station applications.
One pair of parallel element is for +45°polarization and the other
pair for -45° polarization. The impedance bandwidth is greatly
improved loaded with resonator. Experimentally, the antenna
exhibits a wide impedance bandwidth of 37.5% ranges from 0.67
to 0.98GHz for |S11|<-15dB, high isolation of more than 40dB,
stable gain of around 9.5dBi over the whole operating band.

C. Design guideline
Based on above analysis and parametric study, a design
guideline is recommended as follows. Assuming that λ is the
wavelength corresponding the desired center frequency.
1) Firstly, setting the dimension of resonator-loaded dipole as
Ld1=0.5λ, L1=0.25λ, dl=0.01λ, w1=0.03λ, H=0.25λ and the
length of reflector GD=λ with proper baffle.
2) Secondly, setting the distance of the same polarization dipole
antenna dis=0.25λ. Insure that the HPBW is around 65°. Then Fig.9. Simulated |S11| of the proposed antenna with different (a) L3, (b) d3.
