Scholars have defined empiricism as the theory of human knowledge which is primarily garnered

from experiences assembled through the five senses. Empiricism heavily emphasizes on
experimentation as a way of collecting evidence in order for theories to be applied to real world
observations and recorded as empirical data. Empiricism is an evidence-based approach which
relies on real-world data, metrics and results rather than theories and concepts (TechTarget,
2016).

Our bodies are composed of several interdependent basic organ systems that manage all the
essential body functions while ensuring proper functioning and a state of balance within the body
(homeostasis) (Crosby, 2018). As such, we depend on all our body senses when gathering
empirical evidence. We utilize our senses when collecting information from the environment; the
eyes to see and capture most experiences, ears to gather evidence through hearing, limps to
verify the surface texture through touch and feel and the brain to analytically process the
gathered data from our environment in order to draw a conclusion by subjecting the collected
data to further testing to draw a scientifically proven conclusion without bias.

Empirical Evidence is the actual data collected through direct observation or experiment which
does not rely on argument or belief but rather experiments and observations which are carried
out carefully and then reported in detail so that other investigators can repeat and attempt to
verify the work (Bradford, 2017).

I cannot categorize my daily observations as empirical evidence with considerations that no

further testing and experimentation with strict analysis of acquired data has been performed on
my observations to draw a viable and verifiable conclusion.

Therefore, my daily observations do not qualify as empirical evidence but rather, just thoughts
and observations. For these empirical data acquired through these observations to qualify as
empirical evidence, then it has to be subjected to numerous scientific test while employing
scientific methods and tools to eliminate any bias.
