COMPARATIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: PAKISTAN AND BANGLADESH

CASE STUDY ANALYSIS

Problem 2: How to reduce fertility in Pakistan for the next succeeding years?
Solution 1: To reduces fertility in Pakistan, families, NGOs, and government must
collaborate to emphasize the importance of family planning. The government
and NGOs must encourage each couple who are planning to create a family
planning first to explain its necessity. The government may require the
couples before marriage to attend seminars concerning about family planning.
Solution 2: To reduce fertility in Pakistan, the legislator may pass a law to control the
increase of the population. Such law must indicate the maximum number of
children a couple must have, the same with the “One Child Policy” in China.

IV. RECOMMENDATIONS

In order to improve Pakistan’s literacy rate to both male and female, the second
proposed solution is viewed more suitable. This solution proposes that government must
take an active part in amending the policies that must be implemented in the educational
institutions. A law that protects the equal rights of both male and female in terms of
education must be passed and strictly executed. Appropriate legal actions by the
authoritative body should be given to those who are found guilty in violating the said rights.
And lastly, the financial aid that will definitely help the students in Pakistan.
Government’s role in this facet is very significant. It is not enough that only the
immediate stakeholders of each educational institution must take an active involvement.
Equal rights of both male and female in the area of education affects not only the individual
lives of the students, but the country as a whole. Concerns regarding unequal treatment
between male and female students in school continue to arise. Thus, if execution of legal
actions is deemed more appropriate, then it must be practiced. It must be noted that the
importance of education is not defined by the difference of the students’ sexual orientation.
Everybody deserves education and be educated.
For the second problem which is concerned about the fertility or the increase of the
population in Pakistan, I highly recommend the first solution. The first solution proposes
the importance of family planning. Based on the case study, Bangladesh are already
applying this to control their population. The only challenge is how family planning can be strictly
practiced. To control the fertility is very important, so that families, especially the
parents can provide their children with the best quality of education, health, and many more
opportunities.
