1. You are assigned to be a neonatology nurse, now they call for you through the pager to come and assist in examining a
newborn. What equipment you should make sure it is in your bag?
When I go to assist or examine a newborn baby I should take APGAR chart to assist the newborn immediately after birth and
I should take setscope to auscultate the heart beat and I should take a vitamin k and subcutaneous syringe to give it for the
child as a prophylaxis, take a erythromycin 0.5% ophthalmic ointment for prevention of gonococcal ophthalmic neonatorum,
take a syringe Bulp for suction any secretion, blaster , alcohol swap , wipe , warm blanket ,umbilical catheter , nalosan ,
different cannula.

2. What information you will require to complete your assessment?

I should know the OB history and know that the mother will birth on her time (gestational age ).I should know the vital signs such
as temperature, pulse, and breathing rate. I should check the infant's general appearance from head to toe, looking at everything
from soft spots on the skull to breathing patterns to skin rashes to extremities movement and the reflexes of the baby.

3. You are handed a newborn baby after delivery, here you have your baby in your hand.

What is your first interventions? (prioritize):

First I should clean the baby and dry him and maintained the body temperature to put the baby under the radiator heater and
positioning the baby . I will check the baby appearance for any cyanosis because that will indicate decrease on the oxygen level
and the oxygen or the air way is most priority.

4. Now your baby has central cyanosis with HR 96, weak crying, Some flexion of the extremities and irregular respiration

the mother's skin bacteria
