C. Reflection Select one reading strategy

discussed in this lesson. Discuss how to apply
this strategy in your own words. Use the
following questions to guide your reflection:

• Why did you choose this

strategy?
• When should this strategy be
used?
• Can it be applicable to all reading
materials?
• What are the advantages and limitations of
using this strategy?
• Do you think this strategy is the most
effective? Why?

After all of the discussion, I chose the

strategy of using context clues in reading
unfamiliar words in a given sentence. This
strategy must be used when you are having
a hard time understanding the given
selection or sentence. Sometimes, it can’t be
applicable because there are some
selections that don’t show a need for using
context clues. The advantages of using
context clues are the following: it can make
your work easier, helps you to analyze, and
broadens your comprehension. And for me,
this strategy is very effective because for me
personally, it worked, and it really helped me
a lot.
