I’m writing to apply for the Creative Director position at Artsy.
I am a visual creative designer and brand strategist with 5+ years of experience in brand and marketing design and an MA in Design Management from the University of Southampton. As an Account Director, I plan to bring my years of expertise in design strategy and brand thinking with an analytical mind to understand consumer needs and add benefit to the existing creative team at Artsy. It is often said that “Design adds value faster than it adds costs”. Being a communication designer for the last few years enabled me to understand the value created by design and users’ perceptions of it. Translating ideas visually is something that I believe to be the core of any design job. As a Design Manager, I seek opportunities where I could apply my research and knowledge. After working as a designer, I now look forward to solving business problems in a creative and research driven way. My current degree has taught me soft skills like critical analysis, different data research methods, understanding consumer insights, and giving business solutions. Having worked in global as well as start-up environments has made my working style people-centric yet result- aligned. This has also helped me understand different audiences on varied media platforms. Leading a team of 8 has also developed my leadership and team-management skills, helping me understand different perspectives of individuals working together. Communicating with clients and agencies has improved my skills in coordinating and communicating my ideas. Through my previous experience, I have worked closely at the intersection of content writers, brand managers, and great marketing teams to be a mediator between groups with different skillsets. Collaboratively offering my expertise through my previous experience and learning I believe that I would be a good fit for this position and can add value to the company's mission.
