IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS IN SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE PERFORMANCE


Here describes the important points to keep in mind in repair and maintenance performance.

SYMBOLS

To prevent injury to the repair technicians and to protect the devices, the categorized safety instructions are provided in this manual with the symbols below. Be sure
to read and understand their meanings before proceeding to the next section.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Never modify the product for any reason whatsoever.

The precautionary measures itemized below should be fully understood when
performing repair and maintenance procedures.

Be careful not to drop a metal part such as a screw, a washer, or a


clip into the inside of the product. If such cases should occur
accidentally, never turn on the power supply until all the dropped
parts are found and removed.

When carrying out the test operation, do not block the intake and
exhaust ducts.

fire or a damages to the internal parts of this product.)

3.3 Disassembly 3.3.2 Lamp


This section explains one of the shortest way to reach the target part to be repaired. The This part is designated as the Safety Device. When removing/
parts to be removed before the titled part are in italic with their reference pages, so replacing the part for repair, be sure to refer to “3.4 Safety Check
remove those parts referring to their pages before starting. after Servicing (p.76)”. According to the instructions in it, handle
the part and perform the procedure after servicing.
3.3.1 Air Filter
1. Remove the Air Filter. 1. Loosen the screw and remove the Lamp Cover.
2. Loosen the two screws and remove the Lamp.

3.3.3 Rear Foot/Front Foot 2. Rotate each Rear Foot counterclockwise to its full, and pull out the two Rear Foot
referring to the caution above.
3. Remove the two Foot Rubber from the two Rear Foot.

When working with it upside down, make sure to stabilize it such as put it on Lower Case
(bottom)
your lap so as not to damage the surface of the Upper Case. (Since the projection
Lens of this model sticks out from the Upper Case, the projector is unstable
when being set upside down.)

1. Press tweezers or a similar tool into the small slot beside the Front Foot to release
the hooks, and remove the Front Foot.

When removing the Rear Foot, make sure to align the marking on the bottom of
the foot with the IF side first, and then pull it out. Since there are two hooks on
the screw part, the instruction above is so as not to damage the hooks while
aligning them to the grooves on the fixing part of the Lower Case.

3.3.4 Removing the Upper Case (Assembly) 2. Lift the Upper Case.
3. Disconnect the SW Cable from connector CN702 on the MA Board, and remove
the Upper Case.

„ When working with it upside down, make sure to stabilize it such as put it on Upper Case

1. Insulation resistance test
