II. BODY

Curriculum is the path, while teachers serve as a guide. The effectivity or

effectiveness of a curriculum can be trace through the output, the results of
programs being implemented. Moreover, an effective curriculum provides teachers,
students, administrators and community stakeholders with a measurable plan and
structure. The curriculum identifies the learning outcomes and standards and
effective provides, the results and core competencies that student must have taken
you from the progression r to advance to the yearn level. Teachers play a key role in
developing, implementing, assessing, and modifying the curriculum. An
evidenced-based curriculum acts as a road map for teachers and students to
follow on the path to academic success. Administrators follow a detailed
curriculum to help students achieve state and national standards of academic
performance. Schools can lose public funding if students fall substantially behind
peers at higher performing schools. The curriculum ensures that each school is
teaching students relevant material and monitoring the progress of students from all
types of backgrounds.

The curriculum provides coherence, meaning it is centered on how the content,

assessment, pedagogy, and teaching materials align and reinforce towards each
other. This is important because when a curriculum lacks coherence, it is gives
difficulty in teaching and will probably be harder for children to cope up with new
learnings. The school’s curriculum enables it to set out its vision for the knowledge,
skills, and values that its pupils will learn, encompassing the national curriculum
within a coherent wider vision for a successful learning. At the classroom level, the
curriculum will also techniques on how to follow the curriculum and on how it will
be taught, also it includes factors in assessing the students. For a curriculum to
evolve and progress, it should produce positive changes, development should have a
purpose, planned and progressive. Types of curricula operating in schools are:

III. CONCLUSION

Curriculum is very much important to both teachers and learners at school. The
school, with the curriculum, it is being clear to which aspect or concept in teaching
to follow, it allows them to have a sequence or order to follow, to have organize and
orderly flow in enriching knowledge and skills towards every learner. For the teacher
in some ways, curriculum is also very important because they are guided, the
curriculum allows them to have clearer thoughts on what knowledge to teach, the
sequencing of idea to be taught, knowing the priorities in teaching. Curriculum helps
learners have a wide vision in learning, expectations to develop along the way, the
knowledge, skills that they can obtain through the help of the teacher and this
process will fall into gradual continuing process. A well-planned curriculum really
helps a lot to everyone especially in organizing and developing ideas.
