About The Theme

Where did our laws come from? What facets of world history were responsible for shaping our
lives as we live them? Can we attribute Shakespeare’s rise to fame to anyone other than him?
Regardless of what path of inquiry we choose, all roads lead here.

“Veni. Vidi. Vici.” Three words are all you need to be transported back in time to 31 BC. Back
when each war fought meant that you inched closer to an olive branch, when soldiers were held in
the highest regard, when each monument was a testament to the glory of the kingdom, when
books and plays were the ultimate forms of expression. The glorious era of the Roman Empire.
At its height, the empire spanned across millions of miles, ruling over hundreds of kingdoms,
spreading ideas of modernity and change.

Though the Roman Empire has been long dead for thousands of years, we can still see traces of
it in our craftsmanship, architecture, innovation, writings, vocabulary, and even legislation. The
ancient Romans have left their indelible impression on our world, from roadways and the
precursors to stadiums, to the classics that went on to become unforgettable. It goes without
saying that the stories of this empire captured the imagination of several, from Virgil and
Shakespeare to Rick Riordan and Madeline Miller, even going as far into the field of technology
as it lends the name for the infamous Trojan virus. The Roman Empire has had one of the most
pervasive influences on modern whether it is the transit system, laws, or even philosophy. It has
had monuments, literature, theories, and technology stand the test of time, and it rises above the
rest, the crown jewel of empires, still casting its ‘ lux aeterna ’ over our lives.

raises consumer awareness towards a new product, causing them to come and test it.
But how did they ever achieve such a feat back in the days of scrolls and inscriptions?
Well, sellers in Egypt, Greece, and Rome would paint or carve ads onto
conspicuously displayed surfaces such as the sides of buildings or massive boulders
near heavily trafficked pathways that would help generate interest in the idea. If you
