Strengths (Pakikipagkapwa-tao)
relating to another person as if
they were a fellow human being.
The practices of bayanihan and
the 'boodle fight' are the most
visible manifestations of
pakikipagkapwa-tao among
Filipinos. The former is more
common in the country's rural
parts.

Strengths (Family Oriented)

A family oriented person
is someone who is
concerned about each
family member's well-
being and ensures that
they are seen, heard, and
accepted for who they
are.

Strengths (Joy and Humor)

The capacity of Filipinos to find
humour in everything is a well-
known trait. It highlights Filipinos'
optimism and enthusiasm in
whatever situation they find
themselves in, allowing them to
persevere in the face of adversity.
It's a coping mechanism, similar to
how a toddler who has fallen laughs
at himself or herself.

Strengths (Flexibility,Creativity and

Adaptability)
Flexibility, adaptability, and creativity are all important
qualities. Filipinos have a remarkable ability to shift
and adapt to changing conditions and their physical
and social environments. Unexpected and
unanticipated situations are never too upsetting or
confusing for the Filipino, who can adapt to whatever
happened. We have an ambiguity tolerance that allows
us to stay unmoved by uncertainty or a lack of
information. We are inventive, resourceful, and quick
learners who can improvise and make do with
whatever we have on hand to create and produce.
Strengths (Hard work and
Industry
The most significant factor in achieving success is
hard work. Industry is the key to success; it
creates a nation, while idleness destroys it. Only
by putting forth a lot of effort can you reach
greatness. What a person earns through the sweat
of his brow is more satisfying than what he
obtains through a stroke of luck.

Strengths (Faith and Religiosity)

When faith and devotion are combined with
hypocrisy, they become a weakness. And since the
majority of those who practice their faith and
religion are mostly hypocrites in their faith and
religion, I would argue that most Filipinos suffer
from this on a daily basis.

Strength (Ability to Survive)

the ability to live

or exist
indefinitely
Weaknesses (Extreme Personalism)

It refers to the degree to which one can relate to things and

people on a personal level, which impacts the recognition of
their existence and the value assigned to them. In our
government institutions, extreme personalism frequently
leads to graft, corruption, and other malpractices.
Page 11

Weaknesses (Extreme Family

Centeredness)

Strong family protection,

whether in good or ill
shape and circumstance
(consentidor)
(overprotected)

Weaknesses (Lack of Discipline)

A lack of discipline can lead to a
poor response. This failure will
affect not just others, but also
the person's own self. To achieve
such a mental attitude, it is
necessary to discipline the mind.
Adapting the proper attitude is a
critical skill that we must have in
order to survive in society.
Page 13

Weaknesses (Colonial Mentality)

A colonial mentality refers to

people's internalized feelings of
ethnic or cultural inferiority as a
result of colonization, or being
colonized by another group. It
corresponds to the idea that the
colonizer's cultural values are
fundamentally superior than
one's own.

Weaknesses (Kanya-kanya Syndrome)

Personal ambition and a thirst for
power and status that is entirely
unconcerned with the greater
good are also signs of the Kanya-
Kanya syndrome. Personal and
intra-group interests take
precedence. The lack of a sense of
service among workers in the
government bureaucracy
exemplifies this trait.
