Research Design
In order to yield a reliable result regarding the way of conducting a survey among
the students, the researchers utilized a statistical approach. Comprehensive analysis
refers to a quantitative form that mainly focuses in explaining a case under study or a
scenario which can provide observations as to why is it being analyzed. This study aims
to give information to students as well as their parents concerning that significance of
understanding the implications of the Effects of the New Learning Modality to the
Academic Performance of Grade 12 STEM Students at PCU, knowing that academic
achievement plays a critical role for the youth's social growth. It is believed that students
who perform well during course work have a huge change of adapting to adulthood as
well as in attaining professional and financial success.
Samples and Sampling Procedures
The outcome computation of the sample size aided by the Statistical Analysis of
Data, 20 students who are guaranteed anonymity and confidentiality will participate on
the data gathering, and researchers have used survey questionnaire for the study is
quantitative in nature. The researchers have chosen respondents who are currently
enrolled as Grade 12 students from the Philippine Christian University – Dasmariñas
Cavite. To further determine the sample size, the researchers utilizing Stratified
Purposive Sampling to select the respondents, selecting 10 (50%) female and 10 (50%)
male respondents equally. Moreover, the researchers have assured that all are Grade
12 students that are qualified to answer the provided questionnaire comprehensively.

Research Locus
The research titled " The Effects of the New Learning Modality to the Academic
Performance of Grade 12 STEM Students of PCU S.Y 2020-2021 " has taken place in
Philippine Christian University – Dasmarinas, which is located at Sampaloc I,
Dasmarinas City, and Cavite. This is the locus of the study for the reason that the
researchers and respondents of the study are currently enrolled in this institution, school
year 2020-2021

Instrumentation
The researchers had prepared 15-item questionnaires that corresponds to the
statement of the problem of the study. In order for the researchers to determine the
different effects of New Learning Modality to the Academic Performance of Grade 12
STEM Students of Philippine Christian University - Dasmarinas. Moreover, the survey
questionnaires are created using rating scale test because it is the format that is well
known by the students and appropriate to the question and study. The questions stated
upon the survey served as the foundation of researchers in collecting relevant
information and are disseminated to the respondents of this matter.
Data Gathering Procedure
In order for the researchers to provide a valid and reliable data, the researchers
gathered information using a structured survey questionnaire that will be distributed
among Grade 12 STEM students within PCU-D Campus through Google Forms. After
the research instructor assessed and approved the survey questionnaire as well as the
respondents of the study are identified, survey distribution online will be conducted. In
the structured survey questionnaire given by the researchers, the participants consent
and rank statements according to Likert-scale of rating. The collected data will then be
analyzed and summarize by the researchers to provide findings and conclusion of this
study. In addition to this, the researchers make use of online sources to gather
contrasting and fundamental information to complete the research hypothesis and follow
through research methods of the study.

Statistical Analysis of Data

The researchers had used these following statistical treatments in order to
acquire the necessary results for their quantitative study.
Since, they had used rating scales as a measuring aspect of their questionnaire, they
will use weighted mean, in order to determine the average of each responses in every
items.

FORMULAS:

Σfx
Weighted Mean x= x=value of each scale

Σ=summation symbol

f =frequency for each given scale

n=total number of respondents

O=observed∨actual frequencies

E=expected frequencies
