1. Out of the total amount of items bought in your purchase, what percentage was spent on
imports? Compute using the date in your table.

From the total amount of items bought, only 9% are spent on imported products.
2. Compare the percentage of the amount purchases for imports and locally-produced ones
(combine the percentage computed for NCR, Nueva Ecija and other provinces). Did you SPEND
more on imported goods or on local product? Can you think of reasons why the amount of your
purchases is higher than the other?

Based on the computed percentage of amount purchased, I spend more on local products
than imported goods for the reason that I bought more items of it than the imports. I purchased
local goods more because it gives much quality than some of those imported goods. They have
almost the same price but local products give the taste and quality we want since it was
manufactured in accordance to national standards. Furthermore, local products are also more
likely to be fresh and far from expiration than products transported from long distances.
Additionally, I want to support the local companies. Purchasing more local products means
more profit to the local companies which also leads to the creation of more jobs and positively
contributes to the nation’s economic condition.

3. Out of the total no. of items bought in your purchase, what percentage was spent on imports?
Compute using the date in your table.

Out of the total no. of items bought in my purchase, only 20% was spent on imports and
the remaining 80% are for locally-produced goods.

20%

3% Nueva Ecija
0%

Outside the country
77%
6. Compare the percentage of the no. of item purchases for imports and locally-produced ones
(combine the percentage computed for NCR, Nueva Ecija and other provinces). Did you
CONSUME more imported goods or more local products? Can you think of reasons why the no.
of items you consumed is higher than the other?

Based on the percentage of the no. of item purchased, I consumed more local products
than the imported ones. This is due to the fact that local products give the quality I want for the
products I am consuming. I believe that we have different taste, and since the products I
purchased are manufacture here, they know exactly what we Filipinos wants and looking for.
Also, they are easier to find since local stores who sells local products are everywhere.

7. Through this activity, in what way do you think globalization affect our consumption and
production of goods and services?

Globalization abled us to grasp products we can’t produce in our own and gives
opportunity to our local products to be known in the world. It helps more people to get job,
evident to this is the large number of Overseas Filipino workers. Nonetheless, it creates a
competition to our local producers. Local producers must offer the same or lower prices as the
imported ones gives even though they will only have small profit on it. They have to settle on less
or they will lose more because consumers will surely buy the imported goods with cheaper price.
Furthermore, it expands our business industry. It gives us bigger ideas which led to the creation
of one business to another.
