Statement of Purpose

Without ambition one starts nothing

Tell me and I forget, teach me and Iremember, invove me and ill learn

“What is a soul? It’s like electricity we don’t really know what it is, but it’s a force that can light a room”-
Ray Charles

As a child I was always fascinated about planets and satellites, but from the day I witnessed a lighting hit
the earth I was completed mesmerized. I can still remember the moment when I learned how Benjamin
Franklin discovered electricity, with just a key and a kite by obstructing a vague light from the clouds.
This was my inspiration to pursue my studies in the field of Electrical engineering.

My career aspirations in spite of being childhood dreams were the fruit of consistent hard work and
shrewd move around my interested field of study. My journey towards finding the right career path
started from A brief encounter with electronics which then sparked my passion for technology. Growing
curiosity for science, especially in physics and mathematics found me opting for Electrical and
Electronics for Bachelors’ study at New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore. Thus, helping me
develop a strong passion for Electronic circuits and Systems. Now, with the help of a master’s degree in
the chosen discipline from the ABC University, USA, I want to realize my aspiration of contributing to the
area Power Systems in the Electronics domain.

With an intact school background, I have successfully completed my matriculation from Carmel Convent
School, Bangalore securing 97.4% in the top 5 toppers. Apart from academics, I was an active member of
the school cabinet as the Head girl for two consecutive years. My determination and passion in the field
of science me to take mathematics, physics, chemistry, and electronics as majors in Christ University and
secured 89% in the pre-university board examination. I had a strong foundation in Calculus and EM fields
so I chose EE. In my Bachelor’s, I excelled in subjects like Analog Devices and integrated circuits,
microcontrollers and microprocessors, Power Systems, and Industrial Automation. Many of my mini-
projects were implemented with the knowledge of these major subjects. Machine learning and Data
Analytics were among the wide choices of electives that I selected. The knowledge acquired through
these two subjects helped me in my academic project work. In my Bachelor’s, I was able to secure a 9.54
CGPA and was the first topper of the department.
I pursued my curriculum project in Indian Space Research Organization, Bangalore under the guidance of
Dr. Pradeep K Peter. The knowledge on SMPS and DC-DC converters can be used for better interaction
of devices and also to design such systems. My second project was about a Voice-controlled home
automation system using Google Assistance and NodeMCU.

The code was written in embedded C and this helped me in getting the architecture and different
applications which can be done by using the 4 ports and Serial Communication bus. In addition, I worked
another project which dealt with RFIDs detection and analyzing the data taken from different RFIDs. The
code was again written in embedded C and implemented on ARM7 board. My work in Bachelors’ also
includes a seminar on Heads up Display and it was well appreciated by the faculty for a knowledgeable
seminar on the topic.

Pursuing Electrical and Electronics Engineering was by far the wisest decision of my life for the subjects
fell within the natural scope of things in my life. I was able to assimilate the information and readily
implement the same in a variety of projects. While my performance was good in subjects throughout my
graduation, I was effectively fascinated by Power Systems. Due to the strong affliction for Power
Systems, I worked on my major project on Power systems. The project was completed under the
mentorship of Prof Bakshi’s excellent appreciation and a ‘Bravo’ from the organization, further instilling
in me the confidence to keep working in the domain. More importantly, the work also presented to me
the wide possibilities of the technology and left me desirous of learning more. The strong inclination
guided me in the last semester as well when I opted for backend courses on Power Systems.

Learning about Power Systems, I knew I wished to make a career within the said domain and decided
that I would gain a better understanding by pursuing master’s in electrical engineering and becoming an
expert within the sector. My humble beginnings offered me a modest living amidst strong respect for
academic excellence. My grandfather, an English teacher, would often take out time to condition my
mind and encourage me to take the path of education. Supported by equally informed parents, I
succeeded throughout my school years in every domain. Such has been my journey that, I have the
honor of being the Captain of the Cricket Tournament School Team. Moving with such a feathered cap,
my graduation year was bound to have an illustrious tenure and as promised, it was.
