SOP FOR EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

My interest in Electronics dates back to the early days of my upper primary and high school.
My career objective is to pursue research in the field of Embedded Systems. I have a strong conviction
that an opportunity to pursue graduate studies will help me realize my goals, passing the path for self-
actualization.

It was in my 5th standard that I had begun analyzing things more clearly. I was always fond of
problem solving questions and this triggered me to solve numerous examples thus enabling me to gain
the tactics and methods for such challenging questions. Apparently, mathematics became one of my
favorite subjects. Further during my high school, learning
about Gravity, Electrons and Current increased my curiosity to learn more about Physics. This keen
interest in Mathematics and Physics enabled me to develop stronger quantitative and analytical skills.
This has helped me in securing 94% in Mathematics and 77% in General Science to an
overall 79.33% in S.S.C(10th grade).

I passed my senior secondary school (10+2) with an aggregate

of 83.5% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my special subjects. During
this period, the practical and theoretical exposure I received on concepts
like Magnetism, Electricity and Sound prompted me to take up Engineering in
Electronics and Communication Engineering.
My sincere efforts and hard work placed me among the top 7.642% of about 1,35,000 students
who appeared for the Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test ( EAMCET). I subsequently
pursued my undergraduate studies at Bhoj Reddy College of Engineering for Women (BRECW)
affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU)

The undergraduate program in Electronics and Communication engineering (E.C.E) at

BRECW not only helped me to build a solid foundation of Electronics and Communication engineering
fundamentals but also made me conceptually sound in the vast field of both Computers and
Electronics. During the course of my study, I developed unique interest in the areas of Switching
Theory and Logic Design, Microprocessor and Micro controller, Operating systems, Data and
Computer Communications, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI and programming languages like
“C” and Java. Along with good theoretical knowledge, I have secured more than 85% in all the
lab practicals.

In my final year of undergraduate program, I have presented a Paper on “MIGRATION FROM

2G TO 3G GSM (GPRS, IMT-2000(UMTS))”. Being a student member of IETE, I had access to
their journals and magazines and also had the opportunity to meet eminent professors and researchers
during technical congregations.

Due to my growing interest on hardware concepts and software programming skills, I chose the
area of Embedded Systems for my undergraduate project work .I worked on a real time project titled
“Automatic Self Test of an On Board Computer (OBC) - A Real Time Embedded System” at
Research Center Imarat (RCI), DRDO, Hyderabad. OBC is the central information
processing system in the aerospace vehicle which implements navigation, guidance
and control operations automatically without human interference. The application is
designed to test the various peripherals on the OBC for their accurate working before
they are used in-flight along with the necessary knowledge about the various
peripherals.
The project being a group work taught me the virtues of group co-
ordination, continuous interaction and team work which are essential qualities
needed to build one’s carrier. I could carry forward all these qualities that I
inculcated from my curriculum project to the real time project that I’m currently
working on. Presently, I’m, working as a Member-Technical in AS400 domain
at ADP Private Limited, India. I could implement every quality with ease that I
imbibed while learning and I strongly believe learning is a never ending process.
These 10 months of real time experience has also taught me to manage time and
work effectively and efficiently. My interest for the work I take up and the way I
plan to achieve it, has fetched me laurels & recognition awards at the workplace.
The constant improvisation and development of innovative Technologies has
lead to the erosion of the older versions, I would like to be in tandem with the latest
technology. I want to learn, satiate my never-ending curiosity in electronics and
make the optimum use of Technology. This calls for a higher level of knowledge,
expertise and capacity to research extensively. I want to enroll in to a Master’s
Program (MS) that will, to a great extent accouter and assist me in realizing my goal.
I would like to research, specialize in the field of Embedded Systems for which I
have an inherent proclivity and contribute significantly to the field of my interest.

After reading through the graduate program literature and the department
website, I am convinced that the faculty and the facilities in your university are
excellent and the environment is highly conducive for education and research. Thus,
I strongly desire to continue my further education and research at your university. If
given an opportunity, I assure you my dedication and diligence and my desire to
excel would allow me to make a remarkable contribution to the university.
