Thinking strategically is essential to make decisions the right way and at the best time.
Let’s talk about three different ways of thinking in order to manage situations strategically:

1. Critical Thinking

2. Implementation Thinking

3. Intuitive Thinking

Production
In the Group Dynamics activity, you studied about three different ways of thinking strategically.
Take a look at the situation below. Say which ways of thinking would be more effective in
order to make the right decision and make a presentation about dealing with the situation
by following the instructions.

Situation

My name is Maria, and I am the manager of an important company. I need to hire an


assistant; however, I can’t decide on who I should hire. Meet the candidates: Ashley is a
practical, rational, and a very hardworking candidate. She is experienced and focused
on results. The candidate assumes to have difficulties with interpersonal relationships.
Although the candidate has great knowledge, I feel the team would have more difficulties
to deal with this kind of profile. Parker, on the other hand, is great at interpersonal
relationships. Parker believes that counting on people is essential for the growth of the
team, and so do I! On the other hand, Parker has less experience in the area; I would
probably have to invest more time on training. I don’t know what to do. Should I prioritize
knowledge or interpersonal relationship?
