Results and Discussion

Based on the data analysis that researchers have done in this study, improving speaking skills
through direct English teaching methods quantitatively. Reported findings or results on the effect
of pronouncing English vocabulary on pronunciation, e.g. reading novels, etc. Speaking or
Pronunciation is one of the media that makes learning English better and also fun, besides
reading books also makes students interested and more enthusiastic to learn English. This is
because, when students read story books, they will feel comfortable, and not pressured.

This can make students more focused in learning and also know a lot about insight. Talking
while reading a book can also improve students' fluency in practicing their vocabulary and
students can also write stories and make stories. Therefore, when learning English using reading
media, students who write and also read it will find new ways and meanings.

Dam uses a questionnaire with the following steps:


Researchers used a google form in the form of a questionnaire containing several questions
using the open-ended question method.

The researcher conducted this research by distributing the questionnaire link to the object in
question, namely class 2 SMA

Mini survey which was conducted on September 24, 2021 for 7 days and obtained as many as
50 students
The results of the sample of students who filled out a questionnaire about the influence of story
books in English pronunciation and used questions and in the form of a question and answer
session, and it was found that not all of them liked reading story books 30% of writing, 50% of
reading and 20% of listening.

99% of students find a lot of new vocabulary in reading English story books. This makes it
difficult for them, because of the lack of knowledge of pronunciation in reading English story
books, but also increases their knowledge of how to read good and correct English story books.

In this section, the researcher will discuss the data collection process and the effect of speaking
English vocabulary on storybook reading skills in 2nd grade SMA that have been observed.

The researcher uses Google's technique, questionnaire technique and also uses Google Form
media. The results of the data get 50 responses. And 99% of students admitted that they often
find new vocabulary when reading English story books. Based on the data above, it can be stated
that story books can increase students' vocabulary and focus on reading or speaking skills. This
is evidenced by students who are more comfortable and focused when learning English with
speaking techniques using reading techniques
