- Physical education is the teaching and leading of physical activity which is the goal of this course is to
improve and maintain students' current health and set them on a path to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Individual and dual sports selected may include, but not be limited to, archery, badminton, bowling,
golf, gymnastics, handball, paddleball, racquetball, skating, swimming, table tennis and tennis.
-Physical education contributes directly to development of physical competence and fitness. It also helps
students to make informed choices and understand the value of leading a physically active lifestyle. The
benefits of physical education can affect both academic learning and physical activity patterns of students.
- Republic Act No. 5708 An Act Providing for the Promotion and Financing of an Integrated Physical
Education and Sports Development Program for the Schools in the Philippines. This act aims to help the
youth to appreciate and embrace the importance of physical development, as well as mental development
through various sports and activities.
- Section 19 Article XV of the 1987 Philippine Constitution provides that the State shall promote physical
education and encourage sports programs, league competitions, amateur sports, including training for
international competitions, to foster self-discipline, teamwork, and excellence for the development of a
healthy and alert citizenry.
- My expectation in PE003, there is a lot of activities that we can do and we can practice which can also
benefits our physical and mental health. Although we are in our own home, we can still carry out the
assigned activities for us. I am also looking forward to all the topics that we will discuss throughout
semester wherein it will provide us knowledge and learning about the Physical Education.
7. As a PE003 student, what can I expect from you?
- It is always presence and discipline that I will acquire in this subject. As a student, it is important to follow
the guidelines and also to respect everyone inside the class.
