ACRILEM ST190
Acrilem ST190 is a small particle size, medium hard styrene-acrylic water
Product
dispersion specifically designed for the formulation of high quality interior/
Description
exterior wall coatings.
The good compatibility with pigments and extenders normally used in the
coating industry together with the excellent intrinsic wetting properties of
this binder, allow the formulators to formulate paints in a wide range of PVC
still maintaining good water and scrub resistance.

Applications Acrilem ST190 is an universal binder suitable for producing a large variety of
water based coatings for interior and exterior applications including wall
plasters, wood sealers, flexible liquid membranes, caulks and sealants with
the following benefits:

Good adhesion on different substrates

Excellent water resistance
Very good dirt pick up resistance

Acrilem ST190 can also be used as a binder for flocking on plastic surfaces,
in particular on polystyrene, and in textile finishing compounds.

ACRILEM ST190

Usage Acrilem ST190, due to its peculiar styrene/acrylic composition and the
Suggestions small particle size, shows a very high binding power toward pigments and
extenders, an excellent water and alkali resistance and a total lack of
residual tackiness of the dried film.

Interior wall paints with PVC up to 85%, still maintain interesting washable
characteristics.

Considering the quite high film formation temperature (18-20°C) of the

dispersion, all formulations, both clears or pigmented, require an adequate
amount of the traditional coalescing agents available on the market
including also white spirit.

Coalescing agents should be added to the grinding paste and the choice
and the quantity of the most suitable one, to be used alone or blended with
others, is strictly related to the required performances of the finished
products such as the minimum film forming temperature, gloss, final
hardness, scrub and washable resistance etc, etc.

Acrilem ST190 is compatible with cellulosic and polyacrylic thickeners and

dispersants, defoamers, wetting agents and, in general, with the most
commonly used additives in the paints industry.

Even if Acrilem ST190 shows excellent wetting properties, for a long term
storage stability, it is usually necessary to make sure of the complete
dispersion of the pigment paste which has to be made using efficient
equipment and the right amount of wetting and dispersing agents.

Storage The product has to be protected Packing Can be supplied in

from frost and has to be stored at 120 kg drums
temperatures from + 5° C. to + 35°C. 1 ton containers
In these conditions the product will be or bulk
stable for 6 months.
