II. XRF Examination Results

The summarized results of the XRF test for as-received Chalk Sample are presented in Table
2. The results displayed are averaged from three (3) measurements indicating the elemental
concentrations and standard deviations in percent weight (% wt.) – sorted from highest to lowest
concentration.

Table 2. Summarized XRF results for Chalk Sample.

Element Conc. [% wt.] Stddev [% wt.]
Calcium Ca 33.863 0.130
Aluminum Al 3.002 1.636
Silicone Oxide SiO2 1.565 0.785
Iron Fe 0.183 0.025
Chlorine Cl 0.140 0.054
Silver Ag 0.058 0.009
Strontium Sr 0.023 0.001
Copper Cu 0.007 0.003
Barium Ba < LOD 0.009
*LOD - Limit of Detection = below 0.001 %wt.

Based from the HXRF test results, the Chalk Sample is composed primarily of 33.863%
calcium (Ca), 3.002% aluminum (Al), 1.565% silicon oxide (SiO2), and trace amounts of other
metallic elements.
