Deck Area Cleaning
Maintaining clean decks and ship-board equip-
ment is important for crew safety and to protect
the marine environment from deck maintenance
discharges. Keeping clean, rust-free topside
surfaces is an easy first step to help reduce the
risk of Port State Control detentions. Cleanli-
ness on deck gives a good first impression with
inspectors and surveyors. Drew Marine’s
high-performance products for exterior deck sur-
faces, including oil spill dispersants, and corrosion
inhibitors, deliver results that help ensure suc-
cessful inspections.
n General-Purpose Cleaners
Our water-based deck cleaners, hold cleaners, and
external wash cleaners are compliant with the latest
amendments to MARPOL Annex V. They include:
AMEROID RSR, DESCALE-IT, EDGE, ENVIROMATE
2000, ENVIROCARE VGP, and LAC. When a solvent-
based degreaser is required to be used on deck, please
note that discharges of oils and oily mixtures are strictly
regulated under MARPOL Annex I, Regulation 15.
EDGE®
EDGE is a multi-purpose heavy duty cleaner. EDGE will
provide the cleaning power needed to remove stubborn
soils, while remaining mild enough not to harm most
surfaces. EDGE is an excellent alternative to traditional
solvent-based and highly alkaline cleaners, being suitable
for removal of mineral oils, soot stains, and hydrocarbon
free cleaning on deck. EDGE is also well-suited for use
in high-pressure spray guns. It is also IMO approved as
a tank cleaner under MEPC .1/ Circ.590.
WATER-BASED
ENVIROMATE® 2000
Is an all-purpose, water-based cleaner particularly suitable
for deck area, engine room and hotel and galley clean-
ing applications. It is also IMO approved as a tank cleaner
under MEPC .1/ Circ.590.
WATER-BASED, PHOSPHATE-FREE
ENVIROCARE® VGP
Formulated to meet the U.S. Clean Water Act require-
ments for deck cleaners discharged in local U.S. waters
and other similar requirements, ENVIROCARE VGP is
phosphate-free. This multi-purpose, water-based cleaner
is also non-toxic and low foaming, with biodegradable
components.
n Oil Spill Cleanup
LOW-TOXICITY DISPERSANT
OSD/LT*
Proven effective at cleaning oil from hard surfaces such as
docks, decks, and piers, OSD/LT is a superior low-toxicity
oil spill dispersant that minimizes environmental impact. Its
powerful wetting agents break and disperse oil into small-
er droplets. OSD/LT approvals include the U.K. Marine
Management Organization and Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region.
CLEANUP AND REMOVAL
OIL SPILL KITS
Available in three sizes to handle 12, 7 or 1.5 barrel
shipboard oil spills, Drew Marine Oil Spill Kits comply with
equipment and sorbent requirements per US Regulation
33 CFR Part 155 (Discharge Removal Equipment for
Vessels Carrying Oil) and the California Oil Spill Contin-
gency Regulations CA 1644. Sizes include:
• Enhanced Kit – 12 barrel spill
• Standard Kit –7 barrel spill
• Basic Kit – 1.5 barrel spill
Under US regulations, vessels with an overall length of
400 feet or greater must carry equipment to contain and
remove oil spills of at least 12 barrels. Vessels less than
400 feet must carry equipment to contain and remove oil
spills of 7 barrels. Inland oil barges and vessels carrying
oil as a secondary cargo must be equipped to handle spills
of 1.5 barrels.

Hydrocarbon Cleaning
Drew Marine solvent based cleaners are recom-
mended to remove difficult hydrocarbon based
soils. Our recommended products are highly
effective in removing oil based deposits from
decks, deck equipment, and electrical equipment.
Discharge of oily mixtures are strictly regulated
under MARPOL Annex I.
EQUIPMENT, EQUIPMENT SPACES AND
OTHER SURFACES
DREWFRESH® 2000*
A heavy duty, non-flammable, high-performing micro-
emulsion cleaner, DREWFRESH 2000 is designed for
removing heavy greases and difficult carbonized
deposits. Its patented formula meets the requirements of
MARPOL Annex V Amendments, and it is the ideal selection
for cleaning oily decks. However, discharge of any
effluent that is an oily mixture is strictly regulated under
MARPOLAnnex I and must be discharged in accordance with
Annex I, Regulation 15.

DREW ELECTRIC FAST DRY*
Highly effective for dissolving and cleaning grease, tar, wax
and oil from motor parts and electrical equipment. DREW
ELECTRIC FAST DRY is a non-chlorinated, non-corrosive
solvent cleaner providing fast penetrating action.

DREW® ELECTRIC 2000*

A highly efficient, non-chlorinated solvent cleaner used
in electric parts cleaning applications that require deep
cleaning. DREW ELECTRIC 2000 motor and parts clean-
er can be applied on large motors, generators, electrical
apparatus, and smaller equipment and can be used in dip,
wipe, or spray cleaning applications. Severely soiled parts
may be soaked in full strength DREW ELECTRIC 2000.
Because of its slower evaporation rate, use of warm
blowers are recommended.

AMEROID® RSR
Ideal for removing rust and rust stains from paintwork on
decks, overheads and bulkheads, AMEROID RSR also
prepares surfaces for repainting. In addition, it is IMO
MEPC.1/Circ.590 -approved as a tank-cleaning additive.
DESCALE-IT
DESCALE-IT is a liquid acid used to remove scale and cor-
rosion products from metal parts and structures. Corroded
parts can be soaked in a dilute solution of DESCALE-IT.
DESCALE-IT should not be used on equipment made of
stainless steel.
CORROSION COATING PREPARATION
DREWTAN RC
Compatible with most types of corrosion-coating systems,
DREWTAN RC is used on rusted and sandblasted steel
as a pre-coating preparation. It extends the life of the final
coating by preventing premature blistering and peeling,
reducing maintenance time and costs.

CORROSION COATING
NEVAMELT™
Specially formulated to provide long-lasting corrosion
protection and extend service life, NEVAMELT is a clay-
based grease wire rope conditioner and corrosion inhibitor.
This waterproof, non-melting lubricant is insoluble in wa-
ter, cures almost immediately, and lasts longer than most
greases. Maintains efficacy even at extreme temperatures
(-12°C to 100°C).
