Rice Flour

• Rice is edible starchy cereal


grain and the cereal grain and
the grass plant Family -
Poaceae by which it is
produced.
• Roughly one-half of the world
population is wholly dependent
upon rice as a staple food.
• About 95 percent of the
world’s rice crop is eaten by
humans.
• It is eaten in a great variety of
soups, side dishes, and main
dishes in Asian, Middle
Eastern.
• Rice is rich in nutrients,
minerals, B – vitamins and
iron.
Health Benefits Of
Rice Flour

• Since rice flour is gluten-free, it is an


excellent choice for those suffering
from gluten intolerance autoimmune
conditions, such as Celiac.
• It contains a healthy amount of
insoluble fibres, which keep the
digestive tract in optimum shape.

cardiovascular health, manage blood

Wheat Flour

• Wheat flour is a powder made from


the grinding of wheat used for
human consumption.
• There are different types of wheat
flour, distinguished by the amount of
gluten they contain, their colour, the
parts of the grain used, and the type
of wheat. Wheat flour is an essential
ingredient in bread, cakes, cookies,
and most baked goods.
• Hard wheat flour is high in gluten,
with 12% to 14% gluten content,
and its dough has elastic toughness
that holds its shape well once
baked.
• Soft wheat flour is usually divided
into cake flour, which is the lowest in
gluten and pastry flour, which has
slightly more gluten than cake flour.

Differences Between
Wheat Flour And Rice Flour

• Rice flour does not have gluten.


The higher protein and gluten
content make wheat flours elastic.
• The high gluten in wheat flour
results in an easy-to-handle
dough but rice has no gluten, its
dough will not rise unless you mix
it with wheat flour or gluten.
• The elasticity of wheat dough
makes it suitable for many more
products, including cakes, cookies,
pie crusts and pasta but rice flour
does not.
• Wheat flour has higher amount of
certain minerals, such as copper,
iron, zinc, magnesium and
phosphorus but rice flour has very
less minerals.
Chiladu

• Chiladu is a himachal traditional


dish.

• Chiladu is loved by every himachali’s.

• For himachali’s chiladu is like a sweet


dish.

• Many himachali’s make chiladu’s on


festival as a sweet.
Mixed Flour Chiladu
Ingredients

a. Wheat Flour – 3 tablespoon


b. Rice Flour – 3 tablespoon
c. Chopped Green Chillies - 1
d. Chopped Coriander
e. Salt – according to taste
f. Crushed Red Pepper
g. Water
• Take wheat flour in a bowl.
• Now add rice flour.
• Add chopped green chillies.
• Add chopped coriander.
▪ Add crushed red pepper.
▪ Add salt.
▪ Now mix it properly.
▪ Add water in it.
• Mix the water properly in the
mixture.
• There should not be lumps in the
mixture.
• The water should be properly
mixed with mixture as shown in
above picture.
• Now take a pan.
• Keep the pan on gas.
• After 30 seconds add oil in pan.
• Now gently spread the mixture in
the pan.
• Now wait till one side is cooked
properly.
• After the chiladu is cooked from
one side turn it to another side
for cooking.
• When it is cooked properly
from both side it is ready to
eat.
Normal Chiladu

Ingredients

a) Wheat Flour

b) Sugar

c) Water
• Take wheat flour in a bowl.
• Add sugar in it.
• Now add water in it.
• Mix the water properly in
the mixture.
• There should not be
lumps in the mixture.
• The water should be
properly mixed with
mixture as shown in
above picture.
• Now take a pan.
• Keep the pan on gas.
• After 30 seconds add oil in pan.
• Now gently spread the mixture in
the pan.
• Now wait till one side is cooked
properly.
• After the chiladu is cooked from
one side turn it to another side for
cooking.
• When it is cooked properly from
both side it is ready to eat.
Differences between mixed
flour and Normal flour Chiladu
• Mixed flour chiladu is spicy and
salty.

• While original flour chiladu is


sweet.

• Mixed flour chiladu is yellow in


colour.

• While original flour chiladu is


brown in colour.

• In mixed flour chiladu two types


of flour are added.

• In original chiladu only wheat


flour is added.
