Olympia College, Kuantan Campus - ‘Heal the World.

 Save the Environment’ Charity Sales

The Student Council members of Olympia College, Kuantan campus together with Ms May Leong,
Coordinator, Business School and Mr Suresh, Business Programme lecturer had organized the Charity
Garage Sale ‘10 with the theme “Heal the World. Save the Environment” at the East Coast Mall,
Kuantan.

The Student Council members were very excited about the event which took place on 26 June 2010 from
10.00am till 10.00pm. A booth was set-up at the ECM. The public, Olympia’s staff and the students
came in droves to support the Charity Garage Sales.

Mr Sundar, the Principal of Olympia College, Kuantan campus said “We had organized the Charity
Garage Sales as we believe we can indirectly guide more people to reuse and recycle the goods and to be
charitable at the same time.”
 
“Our students and staff wore T-shirts with the words – “Olympia College, Heal the World. Save the
Environment”, specially made for this event as we want to educate the public on the importance of saving
our environment and to show our support towards a greener environment.”

The Student Council collected both in cash and in kind. The cash collected from the Charity Garage
Sales will be donated to an Old Folk's Home and an Orphanage in Kuantan during the forthcoming festive
seasons, thus making Olympia College, Kuantan campus, the first campus to organize a major charitable
cause for the community.

“We wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made this event a great success especially
the organizers Ms May Leong, Mr Suresh, Mr Derick, the Student Council, staff members as well as the
press.” added Mr Sundar.

Olympia College’s cutting edge and industry oriented Diploma in Business Studies programme will

Higher National Diploma (HND) from Edexcel, UK.

This guarantees entry into 2nd year of an undergraduate degree locally or to over 200 universities in UK,
USA and Australia. Students who want an European exposure can also completed their degree through
the University of Information Technology and Management (UITM), Poland at very affordable fees.

Olympia’s Diploma in Hotel Management programme is a highly sought programme for those interested
in a successful hotel career. The hotel programme was developed with the assistance of partner
institutions and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) to meet the demands of the hotel industry.
Olympia College is a member of the prestigious Malaysian Association of Hotel (MAH). The graduates
from the Diploma in Hotel Management will :

1) receive an additional Diploma from the Business and Hotel Management School (BHMS)
(Switzerland)*

2) receive the prestigious Higher National Diploma award from Edexcel UK on completion of an

3) This will pave a way to the final year of Bachelor of Arts in Hotel and Hospitality Management

Olympia College ‘s Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) programme has been designed to meet the
demands of the increasing job market for I.T specialists. There a demand today for IT experts who really
know their job.

The primary objective of the Diploma in Information Technology programme is to develop students with
a strong, broad-based education in computing as a scientific and technological discipline. In this
programme, students will gain an appreciation of the foundations of computation, an understanding of the
structure of programming languages and the skills to put these concepts and technologies into practice.

based careers in the IT industry or to continue their higher studies. There is an acute shortage of computer
professionals, so career prospects for students following IT courses are excellent.
