1. What do you understand of Cultural Anthropology?

Give 5 reasons why a

culture changes or evolves? (around a 10 line paragraph)

Cultural Anthropology is the study of how people who share a common cultural
system organize and shape the physical and social world around them, and are
in turn shaped by those ideas, behaviors, and physical environments. We study
how human culture has changed and sometimes stayed the same throughout
history.
It deals with human culture especially with respect to social structure, language,
law, politics, religion, magic, art, and technology

5 reasons
1. Climatic or environmental changes can deeply impact a culture. When one
does not get certain raw materials anymore, one is prone to seek
alternatives for either the materials or geographic location.
2. A cultural change can occur from within through new philosophical ideas.
3. Outside influences can have huge impact on a culture. The outside/other
cultures may provide a more comfortable lifestyle which may lure some
individuals from other cultures, and this may end up creating a sub culture
which was not there earlier.
4. Advancement in technology can be an important factor which can affect
day-to-day life. From sharper tools for hunting to new ways of buying
goods, discovery or inventions can totally change the way things are done.
5. Ethical enlightenment can change the ways how people behave and treat
each other and their surroundings. The reason we have specific notions
about certain cultures is based on their behavior and that behavior has
changed over a period of time.
