III. Procedure

Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity

Preliminary activities
Good morning class, I hope everyone is doing well. For Good Morning ma’am…
your attendance, kindly go to our Google Classroom for
you to have your attendance for today’s meeting. You
only have 3 minutes given and for those who could not Okay ma’am
be able to log in right away, you will be considered late.
So please secure better connection.

Is everybody done? So, before we proceed to our new

lesson, Let’s have a short review!

What is our past lesson all about?

Miss______?

Very Good! What are the components of health and

wellness miss_____?
Very Good! Are we all clear in health and wellness? The components of heath and wellness are:
emotional/ mental, intellectual, physical,
social, and spiritual health and wellness.

Yes ma’am
Motivation

And before we start our today’s lesson, let us first do a

short activity to warm up our body. So please
participate class.

And a friendly reminder, to please wear your P.E attire

(loosen t-shirt, jogging pants, and a rubber shoes) so
that you will be comfortable in doing our activity and
also for us to avoid unexpected injuries.

So, are you all ready?

(Yes ma’am)
For the energizer activity, here is the link:
https://youtu.be/YKct5NPeaDQ
The class will follow the instruction of the
activity in the video.
okay, did you have fun class?

Or did you get tired already? (Yes ma’am)

(Somehow ma’am)

Activity

Okay, for your another activity I will group you into two
group through Break out rooms.

Instructions: There you will work as group and your task

is to say something about the pictures shown and what
do you think one should have in order to perform those
pictures. Right after, you are going to present your
output in the class.

No ma’am
You can type your answers in the chatbot so that
everyone can see your answer.

You will be given ample time to do the task. So, any

question or clarification about the activity?
So, if none, you may start now.

Analysis Group 1

So done, okay please select your leader to present your The pictures shows a lady to doing exercise,
output, and shall we start with group 1 followed by Tom mopping the floor and walls, Cinderella
group 2. washing the clothes, a baseball player batting
a ball in the middle of the game, Spongebob
doing all the household Chores and a volleyball
players playing and spiking a ball.

In doing all those task and activities without

enough rest can cause burned-out and weaken
our body, that’s why we need to have lots of
energy reserved to continue what we are
doing especially those tiring activities that
requires a strong stamina and endurance.

Group 2
Yes very good, what about group 2, what can you say We have notice, those pictures show different
about the pictures? kinds of physical activities either if it is playing
sports, doing household chores, or just simply
doing exercise. Those activities require a
physically fit body so that they will not get
tired easily, like cleaning the house specially
laundry and like playing baseball one should
strong enough to hit the ball and run during
the play.

Okay very good, so, what do you think is our lesson for “Doing physical activities without being easily
today base from the observation you have in the given getting tired “
activity?
Anyone who can share her thoughts to us?
“Being physically or totally fit person who can
Yes, very good. That’s fitness. That is the concept of do or manage to accomplish different task
being a physically fit person. without undue fatigue and still have stored
energy to do other or another task or activities
at a given time.”
Hence, from the given activities our objectives for
today’s lesson is that the students are expected to:

1.To understand the different components of health

and skill-related fitness in relation to its benefits.
2.To describe the different components of health and
skill-related fitness in the given selection (Distinguish
from a given video)
3. To Give examples of physical activities which
incorporate one or more of the components of health
and skill-related fitness thru recorded video.

Abstraction

But before we proceed, let us first define what is

Fitness and Physical fitness.

Fitness. Is a major goal of PE. Fitness is the ability to

live a healthy, satisfying, and useful life [good life].
(Corbin, et al, 2000)

While Physical Fitness is An ability of a person to

accomplish daily task effectively and efficiently without
undue fatigue and still have an ample energy to meet
unforeseen emergencies.

You have ‘the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor
and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample
energy to enjoy leisure-time pursuits and respond to
emergencies.

Based on this definition, fitness involves everything

from getting out of bed to hiking to performing CPR.

Total fitness can be defined by how well the body

performs in each one of the components of physical
fitness as a whole.
So, what are the components of physical fitness?
We have,
 Health-Related Fitness Component
 Skill-Related Fitness Component

The health-related components of physical fitness are

directly associated with good health.
The five components of health-related physical fitness
are body composition, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility,
muscular endurance, and strength. Each health– related
fitness characteristic has a direct relationship to good
health and reduced risk for hypokinetic disease.

Hypokinetic Diseases or Conditions. Hypo- means

“under” or “too little,” and -kinetic means “movement”
or “activity.” Thus, hypokinetic means “too little
activity.” A hypokinetic disease or condition is one
associated with lack of physical activity or too little
regular exercise. Examples include heart disease, low
back pain, Type II diabetes, and obesity

Health related components

is essential to disease prevention and health promotion,
but it is not essential to have exceptionally high levels of
fitness to achieve health benefits. High levels of health-
related fitness relate more to performance than to
health benefits.

For example, moderate amounts of strength are

necessary to prevent back and posture problems,
whereas high levels of strength contribute most to
improved performance in activities such as football and
jobs involving heavy lifting.

Skill related fitness components

 The skill-related components of physical fitness
are associated more with performance than with
good health.
 They are called skill-related because people who
possess them find it easy to achieve high levels
of performance in motor skills, such as those
required in sports and in specific types of jobs
What are the components that encompasses health
related fitness?

Health-Related components
 Cardio-Vascular Endurance/CRE
The ability of the heart, blood vessels, blood,
and respiratory system to supply nutrients and
oxygen to the muscles and the ability of the
muscles to utilize fuel to allow sustained
exercise. A fit person can persist in physical
activity for relatively long periods without undue
stress
 Body Composition
The relative percentage of muscle, fat, bone, and
other tissues that make up the body. A fit person
has a relatively low, but not too low, percentage
of body fat (body fatness).
 Musculo-Skeletal Fitness
 (Muscular Strength,
The ability of the muscles to exert an
external force or to lift a heavy weight. A
fit person can do work or play that
involves exerting force, such as lifting or
controlling one’s own body weight.
 Muscular Endurance,
The ability of the muscles to exert
themselves repeatedly. A fit person can
repeat movements for a long period
without undue fatigue
 Flexibility)
The range of motion available in a joint. It
is affected by muscle length, joint
structure, and other factors. A fit person
can move the body joints through a full
range of motion in work and in play

Skill Related components

 Agility
The ability to rapidly and accurately change the
direction of the movement of the entire body in
space. Skiing and wrestling are examples of
activities that require exceptional agility
 Balance
The maintenance of equilibrium while stationary
or while moving. Performing tai chi movements
and performing stunts on the balance beam are
activities that require exceptional balance
 Coordination
The ability to use the senses with the body parts
to perform motor tasks smoothly and accurately.
Juggling, hitting a tennis ball, and kicking a ball
are examples of activities requiring good
coordination.
 Speed
The ability to perform a movement in a short
period of time. Sprinters and wide receivers in
football need good foot and leg speed.
 Power
The ability to transfer energy into force at a fast
rate. Kicking in martial arts and throwing the
discus are activities that require considerable
power
 Reaction Time
The time elapsed between stimulation and the
beginning of reaction to that stimulation.
Reacting to a soccer ball and starting a sprint
race require good reaction time.

None so far ma’am.

Application

So did you class understand our lesson today? Any

questions? If none, let us check if you really have
learned something today.

Miss_____, can you define what is fitness and physical

fitness using your own words?
Miss______, can you give the different components of
physical fitness under Skill Related?

And miss ______can you give examples of activities or

situation showing those components under skill
related?

IV. Evaluation
Direction: Watch the video and identify what components are being asked or showed in the
given selections.
1. Skill -Related components
2. Health -Related components

V. Assignments

1. Give an example of physical activities which incorporate one or more of the components of
health and skill-related fitness thru recorded video; 2 mins maximum and a minimum of 6
components and 4 activities.
