CONCLUSION
1. Marine Plastic Debris is not a just Indonesian Issues BUT IT
IS A WORLD ISSUES, therefore cooperation is a necessary
2. Indonesia has established a National Ocean Policy and
proposed a NATIONAL PLAN OF ACTION on MARINE PLASTIC
DEBRIS MANAGEMENT
3. Indonesia invites other countries to combat Marine Debris,
especially on education campaign for young people and
developing some pilot projects in IORA region (one country,
one region)
4. Indonesia offers a joint research cooperation to track waste
in Indian Ocean

Next activity on marine debris


• Implementation of plastic tar road technology in Bali (this year),
Jakarta, and Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara)
• International symposium on marine plastic debris, 9 August 2017 in
Makassar. Organized by Deputy for Human Resources, Science,
Technology and Maritime Culture, CMMA
• East Asians Regional conference on marine debris, September 2017 in
Bali (tentative)
